The prices might be fairly priced for what you get but the fact that you have to seemingly pay for every useful option makes it seem like gouging to me.. Maybe less value from the German vehicles vs the Korean and Japanese competitors which seem to include more equipment as standard..

I’ve had a shift of thought. With Toyotas and Hondas, you get all the features as standard bc u don’t get the quality and finish of a luxury car. I would much rather have a better quality interior and nicer everything than more features. People have had cars without 360 cameras forever, so the features shouldn’t be a dealbreaker because ur paying for a quiche product in the end

I definitely would not mind a base model Macan in our garage. Although fun, we rarely push down the pedal to our RS6 or Range Rover so for a midsize crossover, Macan has plenty of power for regular driving and it is by no means weak or slow

The amount of cheap junk sold in the US now for $50K means if you can get this at $56K it is a steal. I saw a Bronco the other day and it is built like I expect a $30K Ford to be built. It cost $55K though.

I have had BMWs ,Mercs , Volvos , in October i get this Porsche Macan , i can honestly say , its the only car i get excited about , the rest dont even come close , it is the ultimate SUV

I got my new Macan 3 months ago and love it to bits. I really did consider the base having test driven it against the S, but just could not look past the performance of the S. I don't think anyone buying the base would come away disappointed at all. But I just felt that to really get the most out of the car, the twin turbo V6 was the best option. As for quality, fit and finish, Porsche is really the best there is from any German maker!

Have been car shopping for the last year and nothing has tickled my fancy enough to buy. Decided to look at Porsche. There is no doubt that Porsche makes a beautiful car. After looking at so many SUV/Crossovers over the last year, and watching 100's of review videos on them, I can see that Porsche is definitely designed for those who prefer performance over luxury. Not that there aren't luxurious features, the interior is gorgeous! But other manufacturers in this price range offer so much MORE for the price, including safety features. The shopping continues....

It is not. The base Macan is not fast and does not feel fast. It is the car for rich college girls and older women that have remarried well. I have driven quite a few of the base models over the last seven years and it does not matter what options you have. It looks nice and is going to impress many people. If you like to actually drive you need to get the S or GTS models. I have owned both and they are far, far better than the base model. Currently have the 2021 GTS model and it is great to drive. Turn the knob to Sport Plus and it feels and sounds amazing. I would not own the base model- all you're getting is the prestige of the name and none of the performance. Right now is a very bad time to try to get a Porsche new or used. Used prices are sky high and new ones just have not been available. And that was before that cargo ship full of Porsches burned last week. I hope this helps.

Not sure what the 440K rule is but my engine pump failed two weeks ago and my engine is toast. I ordered a used engine with 48K miles and it will be done installed, and runing week. 18K when it's all installed. I didn't read my fine print on the warranty. They only pay a max of $5K for any one repair. If you have a German, get a warranty and read the fine print. 😔

If you have adaptive cruise control....when it is engaged.....car does break to maintain desired distance between cars.. Not crash avoidance.....but it is nice to have

Excellent review. My wife bought her the base model 2022 in November last year and just got delivered this week (an astounding 8 months wait for the car!!!) and I can't wait to test drive it lol .. We live in Vietnam and this car costs around $180K USD with a bit of options, 3x the listed price!! Damm I could buy a 911 Turbo in the US for this money, but it's her well-earned money.

I have the auto braking and collision avoidance in my car (not a Macan) and I absolutely hate it. Any time a car drives “for you” or makes decisions for you is incredibly dangerous. I can drive and assess situations infinitely better than the car can.

Don't know when you made this video,but a few weeks ago porsche released a macan T with a host of new options now standard. They include sports chrono,pasm,gts seats,quad exhaust,20 inch s wheels and more.

Thanks! The “solid thump” is a good quality indicator, some vehicles sound very hollow when you shut the doors. There was no soft close on this particular Macan.
