I have more fun watching the Pure Stock series than any of the NHRA pro classes. So many different cars, combinations, etc without everything looking like it was stamped out with a cookie cutter. Thanks for the video my friend, Semper Fidelis!!

I appreciate the camera work and editing; it was all Brilliant! Watching this event and all the 60's muscle cars takes me back to my high school days during the late 60's, early 70's, where we were just minutes from Fremont Drag strip/Baylands.

Lucky you, I grew up in the middle 80s, but thank God our dad's passed it down to us. Shouldn't forget Mom's, mine was a gearhead too. She didn't like to be beat off the line. 69 rambler scrambler. When I was old enough to remember. But they had 64 Chevy ll 70 dart . 68 barracuda. They were gearheads.

Had a '67 Olds 442 that my Dad bought new. Gave it to me for HS graduation. What a car.

Waited for the SC 360 Hornet to run and you did not show the winner. Pissed me off.
@TheSteeleGarage10 ай бұрын
I can assure you I didn't intend to piss anyone off. The AMCs are among my favorites. You can see the SC/360 making a full pass @39:22 and @42:15 but unfortunately it lost 2-out-of-3 against the big-block Mopar. I'll be putting up the video for the 2023 PSMCDR soon and I hope I include more video of the AMCs. By the way, my younger son and I are huge fans of the '69 SC/Rambers so we are keeping our eyes open for a good one to purchase for a father and son project.

Lot of liberties taken on "Pure Stock" I have never seen a purestock Rambler run in low 13's before
@TheSteeleGarage4 ай бұрын
@@254967conwell the rules of the event allow some modifications and performance improvements. If they allowed zero modifications, the event would be tiny since very few cars are 100% original in every way. They pair the cars on Saturday based on their e.t. in order to make the racing close. There are no prizes, trophies, or cash to win, it’s just for fun. The complete rules can be found here: www.psmcdr.com/rules

I got one question how are they running this fast???
@clyde54912 ай бұрын
Lots of GM and Mopar.American motors had as many cars there as Ford or so it seemed.Wanted to see more 69 Boss and early 70 Boss Mustangs with 429 Boss and 351 Cleveland.But maybe they are not good for drag racing.
