Nice place. I worked in an SSL G studio. Our power supply I think was much bigger and yes noisy, it had a separate room with a separate air conditioning. The power consumption is a real issue these days.

Inspiring! So many aspects of your studio are interesting and high quality. I’ve had a home studio for 20 years, but this REMINDS me why going to a professional studio can be so rewarding. I could never afford the Neve, or those mic’s, or the instruments and amps you have available. I sense people like you are passionate about music production and yet I know it’s a financial nightmare. You sacrifice earnings to keep this art alive - meanwhile hit songs are being cranked out on an iPad, in a bedroom, with no investment what-so-ever. Thank you!

Thanks so much! Yeah the studio landscape has changed a lot over the years. But no matter how the technology keeps evolving, there is still a need for spaces where you can work on a really high level of quality and craftsmanship for when it’s needed. That’s not to say that there aren’t people working through a minijack in our studio every now and then😅

nice! try to unsolder s2 jumper (tiny wire) in the U67 Reissue. Without S2 (HPF) it sounds so much better, with better low end and less congested mids. With s2 stock it sounds a bit thin.

Thanks for the great video! I learned a lot! I am following a course in a studio about analogue recording and mixing so this video helps haha. Maybe you can do a specific video about mics (the basic differences and your personal favourites, and why) ! would love to go more in depth because not all the names do say anything to me. Keep on the great work!!

Very cool. I think you need some Chandler Germainiums my friend ...and a Silver Bullet.
@thomasvopstal2 жыл бұрын
Yeah love the germaniums, but what is a silver bullet?😅 never heard of it
@DasAngryPirate2 жыл бұрын
@@thomasvopstal Louder than Liftoff Silver Bullet. It's a highly multifunctional mojo box which I cannot do justice to it here. I own/regularly use a lot of the stuff you have there and if there was a fire the Bullet is coming down the fire escape with me. It would nestle into the center section under that MBC very nicely. (love the floor to ceiling glass, will have to consider that on the next build).
@DasAngryPirate2 жыл бұрын
...and I will be buried with my Germaniums. What's your take on the reissue 67 vs the old one? I have used (and loved) several vintage ones and have been eyeballing one of the reissues for myself. Any thoughts?
@thomasvopstal2 жыл бұрын
I actually like the reissue a lot, i might do a 67 vintage vs reissue shootout. Let’s see if there’s any animo for that. So everyone, thumbs up if you want that video😅

PLEASE review the PMC 6-2. I was interested in purchasing for my facility and tried to contact someone from the company to find out where I can find any reviews or testing sites, and they basically did not respond unfortunately. If you could do a review on those that would be awesome ! Phenomenal studio by the way
@thomasvopstal2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I may do a review on them in the future, i am planning to post my verdict and experiences with them on my instagram page, so good to keep an eye on that! And for all the technical features, that’s all in the pmc 6 review!
