Less than 300 hp can be easily managed with FWD, more than that becomes harder to control and AWD comes into place. I knew the Accord would win, hands down. The Subaru Engine is strong, but the CVT kills the performance and the AWD loses power to the wheels in performance testing. However, this race is pointless because no Legacy owner would buy one to race, they are mature, family cars, soft, comfy, roomy, smooth, stable, built for safety. The Accord still has that racy Honda vibe, it's more childish and surprinsingly fast for it's looks, it depends on what you want.

I have a turbo Subaru with a CVT, and I find that it's a little faster when not simulating the shifts. Just let the revs sit at the peak power spot. For me, start in manual, first gear, once it gets to the top of the fake first gear drop it into drive and let the RPM sit at the peak. Not sure it would help in this situation though. Weight is clearly a huge factor in this outcome. Some models of CVT Subarus (or at least my Forester) have S and S# modes. In S#, it actually raises line pressure in the transmission considerably. It results in much quicker shifts and a much tighter feeling off the line.
@Mahesh-bo8lv2 жыл бұрын
Very nice comparison. It is not surprising because the Subaru only have 8 horse power more but it's a lot heavier and also the AWD will reduce some of the power going to the wheels. I've never seen this part fail in ANY of my past cars. When asked why the injector failed so early Dealer said they see them all the time and cost of replacement is $1600-$2500 (must replace all 4) and the new injectors warranty is only for 12k/12mos! I was in love and bought the 1st Accord on the lot with series ending in -0001 but when I made a case with Honda to see if it could be part of a bad batch all I got was the VM of the case manager for weeks on end. Lmao I didn't even notice that until you pointed it out. It looks terrible, how do you scratch a screen that bad and not notice 😂

I'd love to see you get another Accord that's been tuned with a ktuner and some bolt ons so we could see the difference.

This Accord will beat the new TLX as well. Save $10k and get touchscreen too over the TLX.

I had a Legacy non turbo and it was dangerously slow in the ramps, passing etc. Had to sell it after just 6 months and got me a Stinger GT line. Subaru was great on the snow though

The legacy is an amazing package. The one thing that hurts it is the CVT. I owned a 20 GT and that’s its weakest link. Where it excels is a drag race if the road is even a little wet.

Oh no, why is the current Subaru Legacy getting slower and slower? Is the previous Legacy stronger (2013-2000)?😢

I'm curious as to which of these would do better on an autocross track. I'm actually kinda surprised though the legacy was alittle more competitive than I thought. Those Accord 2.0 T's are fast.

Honestly for the price of a fully loaded Accord , getting a 6.4L Hemi rumbling V8 Scatpack looks like better deal !
@RevsALot2 жыл бұрын
A five year old 6.4 is like 10k more then a brand new fully loaded Accord, not to mention triple the cost in gas lol. 5.0 ftw.

The accord has been dyno at 280 with factory specs...honda under rated this motor.
@24gabe2 жыл бұрын
No way. Stock, the accord pulls around 240-243 wheel horsepower. With a stage 2 tune, then yes, you could be pulling 280 to the wheels.
