ARAI should really revamp their range testing methodologies to reflect at least somewhat closer to the real life range.

Claimed 430 should get you around 300-320 easily. But the real range figures of 260 are shocking. Somehow the MG ZS seems to do more closer to the Nexon in terms of claimed range

Mg zs EV also under performs in terms of its claimed ARAI range The best comparison would be to look at WLTP claimed range and see the actual range ..the mg zs ev falls well short even in those conditions, while the kona comes the closest to claimed range

@@nujjigram I agree that the ZS under performs on the claimed range but it is not as shocking as the Nexon. Yeah Kona seems closer but it is not appealing to me for some reason.

@@vaishachr924 that's because kona is outdated in terms of features and price ..it's a 5 year old ICE convert which was good for it's time And interiors aren't appealing in terms of style and appearance especially when MG looks premium in comparison

I average 230-250 in my tigor ev. Range in an ev heavily depends on the driving manners. What we all need is an ev,in which we can comfortably cruise on the highway at 80-90kmph for atleast 350kms in real world. Dream ev.
@venkateshkulkarni4270
@venkateshkulkarni4270 2 жыл бұрын
What we need currently is an affordable EV with 450-500 real world range and the one that can do with speeds of 90-110. Anything below this won't sell except for the urban buyers. We don't need money to be spent on gimmicky features like cooled seats, park brake with a button etc. Just a good car with good range , safety & speeds decent enough.

I'll wait for a pure ev. These adaptations are for early adopters. A ev built from the ground up would have 400+ range with better spacing

Rear Seat knees up position should have been addressed considering the average family cruising. A customer spending over 20 Lakhs still has to compromise with Halogen lights. A few couple of thousands should have solved the issue.Also the customers mostly use it in the city , so steering tightness may be an issue especially for women users. Still the customer has to wait for another facelift/update..? Come On Tata. All the rest is Spot On..! SEAT Ventilation absolutely required for India.

@jaypatil150
@jaypatil150 2 жыл бұрын
@@manaspradhan8041 Hi Manas. I understand it is tempting to use max regen at all times since it offers the best range. However, the level three regen on the Max is quite strong so if you are on an open road, the car slows down drastically. This means you have to use a lot of battery to gain back the speed and momentum you lost and end up reducing the range. Ideally, the level 3 regen is best for city traffic and not open stretches or highways. Hope this helps! Cheers!

260km real range is kind of low. Should have given 300km real range.

Ohh crap that poor thigh support in back seats and all of this to increase the practical range of just 50-55 km Not worth it. Better wait for the Avinya platform

If you always set it to Max regen, drivers used to driving ICE will find the driving experience very weird. Initially it’s best to set it to lowest level of regen and once you are comfortable with the car, you can ramp up the regen levels.

I read lot of comments demanding 500km range car and the abysmal real world range of nexon vs the ARAI claim. SImply put an EV outputs about an average of 5km to 7.5 km depending on your foot on accelaration, AC usage. so taking 6km per kilowatt of battery gives about 180km on a 30KWhr battery pack on old nexon, which is actually it's real world range. In order for our ask of 500km we would need 100KWhr of battery - this in turn has its own cons 1. long charging times 2. Increased weight if car driving efficiency down. 3. Less ground clearance and rear seat leg space. 4. Exorbitant costs which would make it impossible to afford for most of us . Though the battery technology is slowly improving and the battery output per density and it's price is slowly going down, but we have to stick with what we are being offerred in india for atleast upcoming 10 years. MG ZS Long Range Version 70KWhr is another option giving about 5 to 6km/kw x 70 = 350-420 km of range - reming me about it's price or is it even available ?
