Awesome video! Toyota really needs to bring this back in XSE and 6-Speed! The Cement color is 🔥 Looks amazing for the price and that shifter is perfect. Just toss in some GR seats ✅

I own and daily a 22’ apex, it’s not that bad, just a little slow with the cvt. I bought mine back in october and the dealer has had any apex trims since then
@microminiskirt2 жыл бұрын
CVT is slow. Should have got the 6 spd. manual which is more reliable and more durable than the CVT transmission.

Big question, what’s the difference between the apex se and the apex xse?

apex xse gets some extras like blind spot monitors, rcta, a 7 inch screen in the dash between the gauges, and the heated leather seats

Good review. Rather disappointing at what this trim level is missing. Clearly Toyota is trading on the Corolla's legendary reputation for reliability. It looks faster than it is. But for literally the same price, you can get a KIA Forte GT that is also a compact sedan. Has an engine that makes 201hp., and gives you a ton of features standard.
@microminiskirt2 жыл бұрын
But again Toyota is reliable. I don't know about how reliable the CVT is but I want a 6 spd. manual anyway.
@Krowicki2 жыл бұрын
Toyota also as an XSE version of this which will give you more features for not much more money but you lose the option for the manual transmission

@@Krowicki What are those features that you give up for 6 speed manual on USA market Corollas?🤔
@Krowicki2 жыл бұрын
mainly just blind spot monitors, sunroof, softex leather seats, and a larger screen between the gage cluster.
@microminiskirt2 жыл бұрын
@@Krowicki All I need are the blind spot warning sensors but given the corolla hatchback design I am not sure if this option is really NEEDED or a deal breaker.🤔 I know the leather seats aren't since I usually put covers over them but leather seats are a nice luxury feature. I don't care or use the sun roof it just makes the car noisey and hotter like an extra window with green house effect. Those 18 tires and wheels just add a bumpy uncomfortable ride, cost🤑 more to buy at initial purchase as well as to maintain. The wheels n tires are purely cosmetic and attract car thieves and just more headaches like curb rash and tires wear out faster and cost more to maintain than standard tires n wheels.

Does the Se have a cvt?
@BradimusMaximus782 жыл бұрын
Hmmm. With that engine it’s not much of a match for the Civic SI, even with a MT. But hey, I haven’t driven it and it is a good value.
@braetonwilson42962 жыл бұрын
Apex is all about handling, not 0-60 time. Corolla Apex handles far better than a Civic Si.
@NGMonocrom2 жыл бұрын
Forget Civic Si. It competes well with the Civic Sport trim. Which also looks very sporty on the outside, but is only available with the Non-Turbo charged engine from Honda. Making only 158hp. The SE Apex Corolla wouldn't even be able to compete well with the Civic EX (one trim above the Civic sport). The EX gets a toned down Turbo charged four cylinder engine. But unlike the Si's, the EX's Turbo is good for only 180hp. (The EX is also the fastest, least expensive Civic that comes with an automatic transmission.)

they got a heads up display
@Krowicki2 жыл бұрын
Just like another commenter here mentioned, it’s a head up display which the corolla doesn’t have the option for. In the corolla’s case, the speed limit would be displayed on the dash.

It's a compact. Signal, check your side mirror, then when safe to do so, rotate your neck and look over your left shoulder; out your Driver's side window. There's your _manual_ Blind Spot Monitoring System.

@@microminiskirt Buy you one of those small, slightly dome shaped blind spot mirrors. Put it on your driver's side mirror. No need to turn your neck. Seriously, blind spot monitoring is one of the most ridiculous features ever invented for cars. Especially compact ones, like the Corolla.
