We did make it to Labrador Highway. Pretty sure about that cause we don’t remember gravel. What a beautiful drive. Don’t miss those grated bridges. 😂😂yeah, you’re right about those moose along that stretch. Don’t see you driving a car very often. 😂😂. Gravel is hard to drive; especially on a bike.

it can be hard going especially in winter. it's good to see wild and living lands. they've made a lot of progress paving parts of it and improving bridges and etc. compared to how it used to be. i wish there was more passenger rail through there :(

@richardmourdock27199 ай бұрын
I rode the Translab in 2019. It was ALL gravel and 389 in Quebec was the worst by far. I was on my Super Tenere and camping.. but I was then a youthful 66. I remember I nearly dumped once in a construction zone... Loose gravel about eight inches thick. Yeah, I was lucky but then again it rained the entire time. Still a true motorcycle adventure to Newfoundland.

Thanks for the comment. !!! We sure loved this part of the trip. The Quebec section is still mostly gravel north of the Hydro dam but once to the west border of Labrador, 100% paved to Newfoundland ferry. Awesome road now !! Thanks for watching

Great video. I lived in Labrador for eight years, but haven’t been back in a while. I wondered how much of the highway was paved on the Quebec side. Thanks for sharing.

Roughly 200 kms of gravel between Labrador city and the hydro dam in the Quebec side. Most was good hardback gravel but there was some very loose sections.

I rode the Trans Labrador (sans trailer) this summer and it was brilliant! Although, it looks like you had better weather than we did. We were camping and the weather, plus the dozens of bears that we saw, had us riding all the way from Churchill to Red Bay (800km). Great video thanks! Tiger Coward
@SHHHMotoTravels2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching !! Yes we had some great weather but we saw no animals what so ever. A bit disappointing with that. We are on a long Canada wide journey, so we set up the bike trailer, behind our SUV and a camper/toy hauler. Haha. Getting soft in retirement !!! Cheers

I lived in aussie for many years, worked in commercial construction. Our union, the BLF, used the blue Eureka flag as their emblem with the words “Dare To Struggle, Dare To Win”, fun times that now as an older man I miss. Great video👍 which part has the longest stretch without a gas stops? possible for a car only has 350km range? thank you for your time.
@SHHHMotoTravels Жыл бұрын
Hello ! Thanks for watching ! The longest stretch with no stations is between El Rosario de Arriba and Guerrero Negro on Hwy 1 MX. It is about 360ish kms. The point to make sure of, that we wanted to point out. If a person filled up in Tjuana they would have lots of tank range at El Rosario but if they passed there thinking there is gas stations every 100 kms they could possibly run out at total kms from Tjuana and o Guerrero Negro would be around 700 kms. I know lots of people on motorcycles and lots of motorcycles only have a 400 kms tank range. Lots of cars and RVs have big ya k range, just need to make sure before heading south from El Rosario. Cheers
