The last motorbike I owned was a Harley sportster 883. That was 33 years ago. I bought the 660 sport last week and really like it. The handling is very nice, and it has enough torque to roll on in any gear.

Mine is arriving in the next week - super excited - so many reviews labelling it as 'one of the best' validates my choice. Was super nervous about ordering a bike I've never sat on but you've really helped allay my concerns. It's really hard to pin down just what made me fall in love with the bike - coming from a CB500F I originally had a Trident on order but the moment they announced these things I had to have one. Thank you for your review.

Hi Dean, congratulations on your new bike 👍 I bet you cannot wait! A great choice, yes it has good reviews all around, a brilliant bike and I would personally take one over the Trident. Better comfort/wind protection etc... I think you have made the right choice 👍 Many thanks and hope you enjoy your new bike!

Great choice! It's got a great engine in a midmarket being engulfed by 2 cylinders. What color was your choice? (also, if you know, is it possible to order it with a center stand? I could not find that option in my country)
@wulfkind2 жыл бұрын
@@silv3rArrow I chose the blue and added the quickshifter, bluetooth connectivity, panniers, comfort seat and top box to my order. No center stand option is available from the dealer, sadly. if your coming from a Honda CB500F you are taking a giant leap forwards . The Honda is a very worthy bike but very dull , in terms of 'thrills and feel' the Triumph's engine is on a completely different level .

@@WyreForestBiker I appreciate you telling me this, I'm not exactly chasing the performance but it's nice to know it's a side benefit. I live in rural Australia so an average ride for me is 400-500km and long ride comfort is why I chose the Tiger.

Test rode this bike last weekend, and it didn't dissapoint. The demonstrator was fitted with the optional quick shifter and I had never ridden a bike with one before, so coming from a Vstrom it made it such a quick bike to ride. Absolutely loved it ❤ 😀. I'm hoping to test ride one of these in the next couple of weeks. As an older rider with over 40 years of riding under my belt, a 'smaller' bike suits my touring needs. I did over 5,000 miles last year on my VStrom 650 and have more of the same planned for 2022 The Tiger 660 will need to be impressive to get my cash, but as I had my first Triumph at 17 (a s/h T100P) it already has a head start.

On his Ducati V4S!) Tiger is sensible smooth and a nice bike but bizarrely as a much more touring than sport set up has shit wind protection vs the Honda! And the speed in the higher revs of the Honda blew me away! Anyway either is good but I need a bike to excite me! And be decent as a tourer!

I really liked riding a trident at a US demo weekend . I’ve only been riding for a few years on a Versys. We don’t get the Tracer 7 here in US. I’m not interested in the Vstrom. Anything else you can think of to try for 35 miles each way of highway commuting , city riding and an occasional weekend getaway ? How have you liked the speedmaster for touring ? I loved riding the whole bonneville series. Love everything about your channel too !
@redangrevival2 жыл бұрын
Hi Stuart, many thanks I really appreciate it and great to hear that you like the channel 👍 I am yet to ride the Versys, am looking forward to trying one out. Thats a shame, the Tracer 7 is a good bike. Hmmm I would recommend trying the Honda "NC750X DCT" or if you fancy a bit more power the Yamaha "Tracer 900/900GT" is a great motorbike. Plenty of power but has rider modes so you don't have to use all the power if you are still fairly new rider. The bonus with the Honda is that it has the DCT gear box. Great for in the city. The Speedmaster for touring has its ups and downs. It is great but obviously not as efficient as an adventure bike etc... However it is very comfortable and relaxing. Could do with a bit more top end power for motorway/highway cruising. Good luck with your choice of bike. Cheers

Nice review! I test rode yesterday and its great, have a blue one on order I will get next month. The tank shape is not great for a small tank bag quick release type. Was wondering what handlebar bag you attached to it and did it obscure your view of the dash at all? By the way I had the lower seat put on the bike as I was on balls of my feet with standard seat. The low comfort seat has decent support and brings it down to almost the trident height. so that was added to my list of accessories :)

Good comment on seat height -disappointingly high at 835 - I think it will put new riders off unless they are tallish. Lower seat reduces it down to 810 - would like to try that before casting full judgement having tried bike with 835 height. Also not especially quick compared to say a Tiger 800.Could be fun but jury still out.

I’m a first time rider (passed my Full license in Feb after a while on a 125 and the Tiger Sport 660 was un-exciting with poor wind protection and worthy but dull! The Honda CBR650R, didn’t have a linear throttle but wasn’t dull! Indeed the way it goes in the higher revs put a huge grin on my face! Handled far better and felt instantly at home on it. The Triumph I sat on but didn’t feel part of it and it’s a tourer, there is nothing sport about it. The Honda deserves the sports in sports tourer while being multiple hour touring comfortable. And the Triumph as a tourer fails miserably for wind protection, I’m 6ft and in the lower setting the air hits the top of my chest with turbulent air and on the high setting hit my head with really turbulent air with vortices shedding alternately from either side making it far worse! The gearbox however is a joy! The CBR is just a touch more clunky when it goes into first!
