Thank you Robert! ... I saw that you had also resumed navigation at home (the beautiful days are coming back to you) 😉

Oui JP, un peu trop souvent de N-NE et il souffle un peu fort (il y a beaucoup de 20-25 kt)...De plus ce vent est quand même un peu frais pour un mois de Mai ! ...Oui, je sais, jamais satisfait 🤣

Wonderful day for sailing! I still cant decide on which one to build, the skerry or the gis. They both seem like such fun little boats. Which one do you feel is more comfortable in bigger waves? I know the flat bottom gis can slap a little in waves but i like the bigger feel it gives inside. I also really like the round lines of the skerry but i feel the round bottom could be a bit awkward in such a small boat. I suppose you can use the same sail on both, right? so prehaps i can build one and later the other, and use the same rigging

The most comfortable in the waves is the GIS. The GIS does not slap too much in the wave (and with a little heel it will slap less). It is bigger and higher, it is more comfortable. The sail of the Skerry is 6m², that of the GIS is 9.80m², it will always be necessary to sail with 1 reef. There is a good alternative to have the round lines of the skerry, the power of the GIS and in safety (liquid ballast), it's the Silmaril... It's complicated to choose a boat 😃! www.arwenmarine.com/BateauxSilmaril.html

Thank you very much for your insight, very helpful! The more i look into them the more i lean towards the GIS. Hadn't heard about the silmaril yet, certainly also a worthy option to look into. What a beauty! I have yet to build a boat and i can already feel this can be a dangerously addictive path to go down, i only have so much time and space. Again, thank you very much
