2023 890 GPS Mount Overview Installation and Useage

Installed this mount on my 2023 KTM 890 adventure R. Mounted a Garmin Zumo XT2. Was able to fish the wires to power the GPS thru where the TFT wire grommet were. I used a coat hanger and fished it out near the right side behind the radiator overflow tank. Worked great and no messy wires or drilling needed. This is where the wires you need to power the GPS. I talked to Andrew and he said others had tried this. I conform this works. I’m very happy with this mount!

any tips on how to remove the bottom bolt and square bushing from the TFT display to pull it out further -- turning the nut just spins the square bushing and I can't seem to hold the square bushing in place with pliers -- wonder if there's a better way

I really like my GPS mount. It was worth the wait, easy to install, fits my Zumo XT perfectly. It's easy to adjust, even while riding. The powder coating is a quality job, the unit is rock solid. The weak point is the KTM mounting point - brass fixtures molded into plastic. Don't over-torque! The Zumolock fits on it well - incidentally, the cut out on the Windshield accommodates access to the Zumolock key perfectly. Overall this is the BEST GPS mounting solution on the market for the 2023 KTM 890 ADV.

Hello, Great video, all very clear, thank you. I have one question - why is the stem so long? I would have thought it best to keep it as short as possible to keep gps as close to inline as tft as possible making making reading from one to the other easier. I appreciate you might need room for cam but could the thumb screw version be shorter perhaps? Thanks, John

It is to get the device out away from the windscreen or you wouldn't be able to tilt it so far. It gives great viewing position when standing. When you are sitting on the bike staring straight forward at it you really can't tell the gps/phone/device is much closer to you than the tft screen....you only get that impression when you look at it side on. Again, if we tucked it up closer to the screen you'd lose the ability to tilt/rotate.

Hello, excellent video. Will this work with a KTM 890 Adv S 2023 as the windshield is a little bit longer, and with a hole in it, also could I use the Quadlock Quad Lock 360 Base - Flat Rectangle Base to use my cellphone as my GPS instead of the Garmin Zumo? Thank you in advance!

Yes, this will fit the ‘23 890 “S” model just the same as it does the R. I have a friend that runs the QL flat rectangle base on this product for his phone instead of a typical GPS unit. The AMPS pattern is very versatile and can be used with numerous product. Thanks

I just ordered one of the brackets..Seems that KTM has discontinued the GPS bracket, and is no longer available...after I receive it..I will be sharing your website and showing the bracket to my local KTM dealer to inform other riders of this product..maybe add a link in this video description to your store/product. I wonder if drilling the threads out on the brass fixtures and using a large washer nut on the underside would be more sturdy than relying on just the brass molded into plastic. Anyone know if the underside is flush and would accommodate this?

We can't comment as I personally haven't viewed the underside. What I can tell you is that we did have a customer crash/drop a bike into a boulder which crushed the windscreen and actually twisted up the metal frame of the gps mount (which is very rigid and required much force to do so) and it didn't pull the inserts out....meaning they are impressively strong. We replaced the frame for him and he's off and running. Not something I'd recommend doing but gives a little reassurance to that plastic/brass structure.

Does it also work for the 790 adv 2023? I would assume so since they're the same bike apart from the engine.

Very probable but we do not currently have enough information to confirm fitment to the new '23 790.

Sorry if this is a stupid question but in regards to the KTM M54 bolts. What exact size do we need? M5-0.8x12, M5-0.8x16, M5-0.8x20? I'm assuming the M5-0.8x12? Thank you.
