I bought a 2016 B8.5 and do still like it but creeping up on 160,000 miles and I am thinking about getting a new Audi (would love an RS7, too much money for me) and these changes may be enough for me to justify the 95,000$ pill to swallow. If you're like me and love the looks and audi feel, and prefer that over the performance benefits from bmw or mercedes, I'd say it's worth it. The rs5 is more livable than the m3, especially in the sportback form. Enjoy whatever you please to! I will say, since this model is on 5 years now, there might be some weight on getting the next generation. I might do a switch myself if they improve the car enough.

@@bibobrabernard1091 The fact that you ended your statement with "I honestly don't like Audi", contradicts your objective view on the price. Here's my understanding. You are paying for a fun factor that Audi never had before, which is a good thing if you're an 'Audi person'. I think that suspension is worth it, (not like you're gonna get that, pretty much racecar level stuff, for a low price anywhere else) lighter wheels, more fun diff, tuned gearbox, more sound, all of which would come at a price anyway anywhere. All you have to do is give it more power, which most people already do to their 'Non-Competition' Audis, but you just get more fun. Look at it as a normal-ish 911 going sorta GT3. On the track, or twisties, it'll be a whole different car dynamically, with the looks that would make BMW wish they kept the 340i grill on the M3, (which they should've) but also the interior, subtlety, and sleeper looks found in the normal RS5... It's worth it honestly, because it brings excitement back to RS. BMW is still head of performance, Merc of Luxury, but NOW we can say that this Audi is both Performance and Luxury. AUDI IS CAR. 😅😂😂😂

Honestly I own the S5 B9 that's been stage 2 since the day one I got it and I can beat stock RS5, throw a hybrid turbo at it and you are running 710 / 810 HP for way less money than what is the purchase price of RS5 B9 and most of it's capabilities. Throw some nice coilovers at it and you still might have some money left for gas. Therefore I just cannot justify the price difference in S/RS cars (at least as the 4 and 5 goes). But I'm glad that Audi has done a car that might be able to stand face to face with it's rivals and be fun while at it. It's a good (re)start of the brand. @@cd7742 I have the rs5 sportback comp in this video (not same car exactly but same spec). As it is a new car, the ECU limits performance for the first 1000-1200kms. This car was on sale in ontario which has just shy of 1000. I would suggest that they were not getting full performance from the engine as tested. It is a wonderful machine and love the one i have.

Joe achilles managed 3.3 0-60 in the RS4 wagon. Also they introduced bucket seats but i assume its not an option in Canada.

Beautiful car, a shame the power output hasn’t been upgraded, even an extra 30hp would’ve made it more of a ‘competition’ to the M3

Why does Audi steel the name competition it’s belongs to bmw🤣

Stage 1 tune for 600$ would probably get you another 80hp

@@Chocobohunter I mean... The m3 is already cheaper... And a stage 1 tune adds like 160hp... Audi should have added more power, no question.

@omnihein93222 жыл бұрын
@@Chocobohunter ? The M3's internals can literally handle double the rated horsepower for extended periods of time, and not just for regular road use for Formula drift... Power has nothing to do with reliability, how it's built does. (also, BMW has been more reliable than Audi for quite a while now) Love my SQ5 though, excellent daily.

I am a diehard audi fan. I like the direction they're going but they really should've done a little more of a tune on this one. I really like the way the Audi's look compared to the bmw or mercedes counterparts but it's just not enough power/speed I think compared to the others at this point. They're trending in the right direction though. Hopefully Audi will add some more power in the future. With that said I do think if things begin to shift towards electric cars then Audi could be the frontrunner. They have by far the best looking electric cars/concepts in my opinion (except the q4 etron god knows what happened with that) and hopefully will continue to get better with both ICE and EV cars.

Thanks for the vicarious therapy. You’ve helped me come to grips with the fact that I’d much prefer the better road car, even if the M3 can shred it on track. This, despite a lifetime spent racing motorcycles (couldn’t afford cars). Or maybe because I’ve spent enough time on track to learn that operating race-ready vehicles on the street is painful all the time and frustrating 99% of the time. Sign me up for an RS6 comp (and let me know the golden shock settings - I only want to fiddle with them once).

Audi beats the m3 and m4 on track... Audi has better lap times and a supreme racing history. Maybe do a little research before rambling nonsense.

The practicality of a hatch-back just blows away a sedan IME. I had a BMW 4 GC and I have a Stinger now. 10/10 I would go for a hatch like this sportback over an M3. You might lose a little structural rigidity, but the day-to-day practicality is just so much better. Plus, the audi lines are just beautiful and smooth.
@CT-vk6cj2 жыл бұрын
Why the downgrade??
@JamesNoBrakes2 жыл бұрын
@@CT-vk6cj Stinger is damn near a clone of the 4GC, its not worse. In some ways it's better. BMW F-series driving dynamics were pretty poor. The reason though was the 4GC was my "only" car and I wanted something more sporty, so I got a 2SS 1LE, but I still wanted a hatchback like the 4GC, the Stinger was a better buy.
