2023 BMW iX1 xDrive30 Review and Real-Life Range Test

Good review, very fair. I think your real world range tests are interesting and check out. I've just come back from a long trip through France in mine and found similar range, although slightly better at 130kph speed. Not sure what will happen in a cold English winter though! I love the 'B' mode and don't use 'D' at all now, but hitting twisty S bends at speed can get a bit hairy even in Sport mode with adaptive suspension. Other than that it's hard to fault. It's a premium car, well loaded with equipment and I've found iDrive 8 to be an improvement on 7 and I don't miss it at all now. For a few days I found myself reaching for the little centre console wheel but iDrive 8 integrates perfectly into this car and 7 would have felt very retro in such a modern vehicle. I've done about 4,000 miles and I am still finding new features to enjoy, iX1 has no vices at all, it's a joy to drive and use that massive torque on offer. I'm already a convert to electric - I'd never go back to petrol now.

What is your impression about the seat comfort? Aren't they narrow a little bit?

Not really. Felt really good in those seats, and I do have a rather wide back but everything was ok.
