Pastor John recommended the Stephen Charnock book to me over 12 years ago and I've been reading on it (slowly but surely) ever since. I started reading a page or two in the morning sometimes before reading the Bible.. I'm on the Goodness of God chapter now. I've got to make a note to go back and read the chapter on Practical Atheism he mentioned. Also, really glad to hear Pastor John's endorsement of the new reprint of it! I might splurge and give it to each of my two sons for Christmas (as a bonus gift) just so they will have it and hope they will get a chance to read it sometime, But I think I will definitely give them the Incomperableness of God book... maybe the more edited one. Also, all the practical recommendations and admonitions for applying and benefiting from reading Pastor John is want to give -- very valuable. I hope they are slowly but surely sinking in. I always watch these book review episodes even if I haven't watched all the other episodes (but I hope to go back and watch/listen to all the ones on Law and Grace and the ones with Jeremy Walker on killing sin). The only thing missing from this book recommendation episode (which had a more warm and comfortable aspect) was (seriously) a log fire going in the background.

First, It's great that you are considering buying the Charnock set, it is fantastic! Second, we are going to let this run for two weeks. So next week John will mention the giveaway again and show the new book we released that contain the sermons of Rethinking God Biblically. We will announce the winner in the week. And here is a little secret, so keep it between us: We have ordered a very special and very old book to giveaway on Jeremy Walker's podcast From the Heart of Spurgeon. We don't want to give too many details right now, but we can say the book is "scarce" and over 100 years old. We are waiting for the book to arrive before we announce it. So keep a tight lip about it for now 😉🤐

I've downloaded Crossway's Kindle sample version of the two volume set John was talking about so I could see if that's the said I want. Right now banner of Truth is running a great sale on all five volumes of Charnock's work. Decisions, decisions... 🤓
