I'm a rruck guy. I'm always using my truck to haul and tow with. I average $4/100 miles when not towing and about $4/50 miles when towing. I probably drive my truck 3 times a week & normal drive is less than 60 miles regardless of what I'm doing.. I was lucky to get 10 mpg with my 2014 F150 when not towing & closer to 5 mpg when towing, so the lightning is the perfect truck for me.

One-pedal driving is awesome! My 2023 Lightning Lariat is an absolute blast to drive. Blue cruise hands-free driving takes some getting used to but I suspect people will adapt to hands-free driving pretty quickly. I got used to it in about ten minutes. My Lariat has exceeded all of my expectations. I'm so glad I reserved one back in May of 2021. The nearly 2 year wait was well worth it.

Congrats & good to hear! I ordered & submitted my build or a 2023 Lariat Nov 2022. I can't remember my initial Reservation date. May have been like Apr 2022. Ford emailed me & guaranteed me a 2023, so hopefully soon as the 6 month mark approaches after submitting my build.

@@mrdion8439 I hope you get yours soon. It's like Tom Petty said... the waiting is the hardest part. Mine is a 2023 Lariat 511a package. It is a space ship. When you're going hands=free it's like being Capt. Kirk sitting on the bridge. It is so fast, so responsive and such a smooth ride. I have never driven anything like it. It is worh every penny. @darpompie43543 ай бұрын
Actually... That is the most incorrect assessment mentioned. As a general contractor of a home building company that owns many trucks, Lightnings included, it's one of the best trucks for truck uses. The frunk allows us to store and charge our tools, power in the back powers our work site, it hauls and tows better then any other half ton we've ever owned, allowing us to get rid of some of our diesel 3/4 and 1 ton trucks, The cost of running them is a fraction of the cost. The ONLY down side is long distance towing. Because we rarely ever and by that, I mean never go over 200 miles per day, the lightning is our best truck for doing truck things. I guess we are just using it wrong.

Lots of money that can be saved by purchasing an F150 Lightening! No more spending all that money on breakage or replacement of spark plugs, coils, fuel injectors. Carborators, Cadillac Coverters, timing belts, air hoses & filters, and the list goes on. I use to have put $80 to $100 of gas in my Expedition to fill it up evertime I went to the gas station. Based on the reviews, you can charge the F150 by similar comparison for $35 of electricity. Less total miles but I'm cool with that.

When buying my 2023 F-150 I had a choice between a Lightning and a Regular F-150, dont get me wrong I liked the lightning but I just couldn't get behind it since i drive up to my Parents house (400 miles one way) around once a month and charging down in the south where I am is kinda difficult, so if it wasn't for that drive that i do i would've 100% bought one. But Im really enjoying my 2023 Platinum Powerboost, I get around 24-27 MPG in town and 20 on the highway (at 80) I love Blue Cruise and I can get around 600 miles on 1 tank which is amazing since I only have to fuel up like maybe twice a month (including the drive up to my parents). Overall While slightly Expensive I am really enjoying my Purchase!

Makes a lot of sense. A lot of people buy pickups and then never use them as pickups. The lightning could be a good choice for them. However, with the ~$100K price tag, wouldn't that same family be better off getting Tesla Model X instead? Particularly as one can't charge this truck away from home reliably. Would rather keep my $100K and wait for a Cybertruck. Also like the looks of that Canoo, though I don't think that one will ever be produced.

There's no way I'd buy something like the cybertruck, that looks like it came out of a starwars movie. Love the luxury and trucking abilities of my lightning platinum. Leaving an approximate balance of just $50k. And didn't have to pay any taxes on the trading portions. The lightning now does an excellent job of replacing both my old vehicles that I traded in. Rides better and gets better mileage than my prius and instead of getting roughly 10 mpg that my F150 got. I'm averaging $4/100miles. And it outperforms my old F150 in every way.
