2023 Ford F150 4x4 STX. This Might be the perfect 1/2ton pickup for you!

Lots to love with the STX. Attractive exterior with no chrome, color matched bumpers, and plenty of tech. I bought mine new 4 years ago. Magma Red, 3.5L ecoboost, SuperCrew, 4x4, 3:55 locking rear diff. 1852lbs payload capacity and rated to tow 12,700lbs. Equipped with max tow pkg that gives a 36 gallon fuel tank, brake controller, and class IV receiver hitch rated for 1320lbs with WD hitch. I searched all dealer inventory within 500 miles of east Texas but couldn't find any with the 3.5L ecoboost that I needed. Finally found the truck on a dealer's lot in Chicago. Flew north, signed the deal and drove 13hrs home. Put 1,000 miles on the truck the same day I bought it which completed the break-in period Ford recommends before towing. FWIW, step bars are very simple to install as Ford already has threaded studs installed on the truck ready to bolt the step bars to. I also replaced the exterior mirrors with extendable towing mirrors. In the past 4 years, I have towed our 34ft travel trailer more than 18K miles including our latest trip to Colorado over Wolf Creek Pass at 11,000ft elevation. This truck tows like a beast and never struggles with our current setup. 10.5mpg towing and 19.0mpg unloaded. I paid $39.5K for this truck new with 7 miles on the odometer in December 2018.

Totally agree! STX has really been a phenomenal package since about 2013. The big bummer to me though is the lack of a power seat. I do not understand why you cannot get a freaking power seat for driver and passenger and you're stuck with a manual otherwise. Everything else is perfect about it

The 2.7L ecoboost is a VERY FUEL EFFECIENT ENGINE. The catch is once you feel how quick those turbos spool up, the smiles per mile go way up and the fuel economy takes a hit. I have a habit of putting in sport mode on the on ramp.

The absolute best thing about this truck….that column shifter. I hate the shifter being moved to center console. That should be reserved for cars and suvs, not trucks. This is a cool package that doesn’t have all the nonsense like higher trims. I could take this package but with the 3.5

I have a 2022 f150 302A package. I haven’t had a new truck in 20 years and it’s got features I haven’t even been able to get to yet!! Lol..I can pretty much do everything from my phone. I can even set daily start up times before I get out of bed!! I have the power down tailgate but not power up tailgate. It’s like one step below the lariat. Sunroof is cool to but I never use it!! The bed lights and power outlets are cool.

I just picked up a 2022 STX with. 6.5” bed and 3.5 with 24k miles on it for $37k in Oregon. Love it, it looks good and drives awesome. It’s my first truck and glad I got the longer bed for all the camping and fishing our family does.

I'd get a Ford f150 with the heavy duty payload package and max tow. Then add tow mirrors. 6.5' bed, captain chairs, and 4x4 with the 5.0 v8. Similar to this in build and price but way more functional. 2400 lbs payload 13,800 towing.

Just bought my 2023 STX came with a 5.0. Has a bench seat in front of it I like it better. Wife can sit next to me. Have a tow package with electric breaks. Step in the tailgate work lights and tie hooks in bed. Have a large screen in dash. Bought luckman seat covers for 250 and put them on and they look like custom seats. Very snug fit on the covers, no movement in them and look great. Get 17 mpg around town got 22 going to Gatlinburg from ga trough Cherokee. Through the mountains for those no familiar with the area.

The problem with led headlights from the factory is they are built into the housing, no bulbs. Unlike with a halogen headlight which you can swap out a $10 bulb. You'd have the replace the entire headlight housing on an led one, hundreds of dollars.

My XLT 2021 is very well equipped with max tow package and has a payload of 1804 pounds with the 5.0 V8. As part of the deal, the dealer put in a leather material over the cloth, because we can't get pet hair out of cloth. It tends to stick in the cloth. I believe the large ecoboost 3.5 would add another 50 to 100 pounds. I was doing good just to get this during truck month in 2021. I just wished it had the tailgate step and was the long bed.

To give you an idea of how much prices have increased... I bought a 2021 XLT in March of 2021 for less than this one, and it has the led headlights, 12-inch infotainment screen with Nav and Sirius xm, power sliding rear window, 20 inch rims, co-pilot 360 with the 360 degree camera views, automatic climate control....etc....etc.... the msrp was right around $55,000 and the dealer knocked off 3 grand plus a few other incentives brought me under 50 grand. It's the best F150 I've ever owned. (I've owned a lot)

I have an XL model F150 now and I love not having carpet, I use my truck as trucks weren’t meant to be used, it gets dirty etc…. I like this truck you’ve featured, hopefully my next truck will be another XL model but I’ll try to get one with the Powerboost engine and the 7.2 kw pro power option. For the same price you can get a Nissan Titan in the Pro4x package with a spray in bed liner, LED and auto dim headlights, off road suspension, higher towing capacity, a super reliable V8 engine, leather interior, and a 5 year, 100,000 mile warranty. And you will only have to do routine maintenance like changing the oil, unlike Ford, where your truck will be in the shop more than your driveway.
