Your last sentence sums it up. Big power is great but only when the chassis can put it on the road.

For the money I’d rather just stick with a beautiful e92 M3, and pour 10-15k into new upkeep and mods. 400lbs lighter is such a nice feeling
@memememine1 Жыл бұрын
I always forget how light a stripper E92 6MT can be. My M3 was the heaviest non convertible you could get. With DCT full leather moonroof iDrive and 4 doors it was like 3700lbs. Still miss that car every day.

Those opf filters must be robbing alot of power from the m2 because performance numbers in the US suggests the m2 is making atleast 530hp to the crank.

Different dynos will give different results, but it would be interesting to get two on the same dyno and see as I believe BMW rate them the same

Is there no hardware differences between the two then? Literally just a software de-tune as such?

Correct, software is the only thing limiting the power. In the future we’ll show this by applying an identical Stage 1 calibration as a G8X M3/M4

This iteration of M2 is detuned to this level because BMW will be working on a M2 Comp. Whether it will include X-Drive is another question entirely. Followed by a CS version and it’s bound to have a facelift version somewhere during it’s lifespan too. Great comparison with the data though Imran comparing it to the M3, Thank you ❤

Yes there most likely will be more powerful models later down the line
@spiraling69 Жыл бұрын
Is this recent news or are you just assuming? The reason why I ask is because BMW has already stated they have no plans for a Competition version of the new M2. Wish they would, but doesn't look like it will happen...
@ertugrulbae46 Жыл бұрын
I just hope aftermarket fix the front bumper, also a new grille insert which is traditional...maybe even the whole housing shape The rear isn't bad apart from the 'sid the Ice age sloth' looking taillights. Its a shame bec I'm happy about the sharkfin nose which is exaggerated, reminds me of the f10 generation and other models around that time. But the square air intakes on front bumper ruin it

@leonardsiragusa6675 Жыл бұрын
The reason there is such a disparity between the two is because there will be an M2 CS which will sit in between the M3 comp and M2 in terms of HP. Probably around the same power as the rear wheel drive M3 at around 473 quoted but plus 10-15hp based on your real life example of the engine putting out more power than the quoted power. Just hope they can shed weight!!!!
