Man that exhaust tip fitment looks rough, those tips stick out waaaay too far

M2 (453 hp/406 lb-ft) turbos puts out 17.4 psi boost stock. M3/M4 (473 hp/406 lb-ft) turbo puts out 18.9 psi stock. M3/M4 (503 hp/479 lb-ft) turbos put out 24.7 psi stock. Engine is detuned.

yah BMW lied how detuned the m2 is and basically stuck the base m3/m4 engine in there as all the m2 dynos are running very similar numbers to those cars... dynoed my m2 (with full exhuast tho) and got 486 hp to the wheels.

​@@vivid_racingAwesome dyno video. What should an M2 with auto trans run in the quarter mile with tune and 93 octane ? I'm ordering a 2025 M2 with zero options, just auto transmission.

Wait for m2 cs or csl. I think bmw will put a lot of arbon fiber parts and maybe aluminium doors. I think it’s heavy for a reason. M2 cs might be less than 1700 and csl 1600kg with over 500hp and this will be really fast m2

G80 & G82 make same power. The difference is Comp vs. Non-Comp. You are right in that the tune on the G87 is different. None of the hardware components on the S58 are different.

It’s not $3k just to unlock the dme. It’s $1,500 through a shop, cheaper if you send it yourself.

Im surprised that you guys are still not familiar with how BMW detune S-derivative engines in the M2, even the S55 in the F87 M2 comp was exactly the same S55 from the F8X M3/4 in a different state of tune, BMW doesnt make different S -derivative engines besides S58 and the S63 thats it, theres no in-between versions of those engines, only different tunes with exactly the same hardware.

The dyno is measuring the torque from the wheels and calculating the horsepower at each RPM. In short, that’s wheel horsepower.

If BMW says 453 hp at the crank. And you are getting 472hp at the wheels, what is the true stock crank hp?

There’s really no way to know that exactly. You can assume at least a 10% loss through drivetrain so it’s over 500 crank for sure but crank really doesn’t matter so long as you know what it’s putting down to the wheels

@@vivid_racing if there is a problem that a dealership can reasonably attribute to the tune… you sure on that? I know they can’t void the entire warranty by law.

If they aren’t putting premium gas I would be very surprised… only a dummy buys an M2 and puts 87 in it.

@@ChrisDavis333 yea buts also could be e30 e70 different mixtures. Thats the point of the question. 91 is the minimum for this car from the factory.

The M2 was on 91! Unfortunately 93 isn't readily available here in Arizona.

Fifth gear is the 1:1 gear ratio!

You can't run it in 6th gear if you don't have the M power package to take off the 155 mph speed limiter. It will hit the speed limiter before being able to redline in 6th gear. Which is why we all dyno in 5th gear.
