Yeah, I did mine but I had to have mine centered so I didn’t use the factory I used the one next to it so they’re centered now. Was so happy that worked out. Looks great.

That makes so much sense....I did not think they would be as visible as they are. Now Im gonna have to change that! Thanks

Hey man, been loving your GR Corolla videos. Don't have one, but it's definitely a dream car at the moment. Completing my Commercial Pilot's License right now and was surprised to see that you're an AME; hopefully I'll be able to afford one once employed as a commercial pilot. Just gotta live vicariously through you for now. Will definitely be making use of your videos when i get one🤞🏼 as these are all changes I'd make to the car. Great stuff!

Thanks! The GR is cool but flying planes is definitely cooler!!!

Sound db ratings are not linear. A 3db increase is roughly a doubling of the sound pressure. A 10db increase is 10x the sound pressure. Thank you for this guide! I'll be upgrading the horn in my GR Corolla as well. Though, I opted for a single 140db ear cannon horn from AeroStich. I installed it on my former MR2... Not only will it catch someone's attention, no amount of car audio will drown this out. :)

Hey there. Does your double horn come up with the additional fuse/rele? Is it necessary to use it or i can put it straight in?
@SpringtailsolutionsАй бұрын
No additional fuses, just plug and play.
@ryansanderson70232 ай бұрын
Ok. So just to avoid confusion. You are saying that one of the ground wires need to be 8mm, and the other 6mm right?
@joelthorne74348 ай бұрын
Good info. I’m wondering if replacing the horn cancels the car warranty.
@Springtailsolutions8 ай бұрын
It would only affect any warranty on the horn (Or related systems)....They can't cancel the warranty because of a small modification.

Did you upgrade the fuse on the horn from 10amp to 15amp?
@SpringtailsolutionsАй бұрын
I did not....any reasoning why it should be changed?
@Northguy029 күн бұрын
@@Springtailsolutions you should never increase fuse ratings if you did not do the wiring design yourself. The 10A fuse is there to protect your wiring loom from short circuiting due to overload and is designed to be the weakest link. Increasing the 10A to a 15A fuse could make a weak point in your wiring loom the weakest link. If your horns draw more power than 10A you should consider adding a Relais combined with (separate) thicker power leads. The two Hella horns draw 3,5A each so you should be fine as 7A is still less than the fuse rate of 10A.

I’ve read comments about using a relay to power the horns. Did a relay come with the kit? How many amps does the stock Corolla supply? My Corolla is definitely getting new horns. I’m thinking maybe a relay would both protect my factory horn circuit and hopefully make the horns even louder. Thoughts?

As I mentioned in the video....I'm kind of a novice when it comes to wiring and basically am following mod directions that I have found on the forums (assumedly from people way smarter than me). I did not see any instructional where they used a relay. All I can say is that the mod is easy and it works well as is....I did not realize how well until I was driving my Morizo back from California and someone was blocking an exit. They literally could not hear my horn at all (Heck, I could barely hear it). I hope that helps and Thanks for watching

Thank you for the reply.

Stock horn is rated 4A. Fuse is rated 10A. Fusing current should be sufficiently larger than rated horn current. If this is not the case, you should add a Relais and additional wiring

i dont really want to buy shrink wrap and connectors, is it possible to just buy a ground wire just like you made?
@Springtailsolutions6 ай бұрын
I don't really see any commercial ground wires for sale....I am afraid that you will have to make one yourself.

@matt67408 ай бұрын
It’s a dc system so the ground completes the circuit. Won’t work without the ground.
