As a Honda technician myself, and other than the seat belt recall and the software upgrade issues with the upgaded Hybrid touchscreens, I also came across a couple 2023 Accord EX 1.5T models with parasitic draw issues that were related to the telematic control unit behind the touchscreen because the faulty telematic was staying on even though the car was competely shut off. Those telematic control units were replaced and reprogrammed under warranty along with replacing the batteries due to sitting too long(the telematic units were on back order for 2-3 months), and that pretty much solved the parasitic draw issue. It was typical 1st year electrical gremlins. Other than that, the new Accord is growing on me styling wise, but the customers seem to prefer the Hybrid models over the regular ones, thus the Hybrids sell more quickly.

Styling yes is low key and I like it, it’s a fantastic daily driver, smooth and relatively quick just in Normal drive mode. My 2024 Honda Accord 1.5T began leaking oil at just 6,000 miles, and I also noticed low coolant levels. I’ve been diligent about maintenance, performing the first oil change at 500 miles and then every 3,000 miles thereafter. Prior to these issues, I experienced a noise from the A/C system, followed by the steering volume switch ceasing to click. Fortunately, everything has been addressed under warranty, but I’m growing increasingly concerned about the decline in Honda’s quality. I always wait 5 minutes before turning off the engine after highway driving, and I exclusively use 93 octane fuel. Despite these precautions, the issues persist-it’s disappointing how much Honda’s quality seems to have deteriorated.

I have a 2024 accord EX and a 2024 HRV Sport and I’ve had a couple quirks. My HRV went into the shop 4 times to have the drivers window repaired. Window refused to roll up half the time and kept bouncing down. First they said it was the seals, then said it was out of adjustment, eventually they just replaced the regulator, seals, and the window motor and that solved the problem. Then we got a weird clunk in the rear when going over light bumps. Took it into service and found that the rear shock bolt had SNAPPED. Took a whole week to get the bolt in for our HRV but it was repaired and Honda gave us a rental. All has been good. We have had 0 issues with our 2024 accord which we actually bought after our 2024 HRV. The only thing I’ve noticed is the steering wheel is off center. The dealership performed a free alignment for me but it didn’t not solve the issue so I took it back. They GASLIT me and said it’s straight when it’s not. I have another appointment this Saturday and they are redoing the alignment, straightening the wheels, and uninstalling and reinstalling the steering wheel. I looked online and there is a TSB for this issue after the service advisor told me there has been no similar complaints for my accord. We will see if these idiots know what they’re doing🤣 Other than that both cars have been AMAZING. I’m at 5,000miles on my accord and 7,000 on my hrv

Have a 23 LX, I have a slight shuddering upon acceleration at 1500-2000 rpm it’s intermittent but would you have any idea what it could be? Thanks love your content!
@BCautosolutions9 ай бұрын
Hey, I haven’t ran across that issue. Is there any pattern at all?
@Noboost8089 ай бұрын
Can’t see a pattern cause it’s intermittent but when it happens it happens only at initial acceleration like leaving a stop light, I notice it cause in my 06 accord 3.0 auto used to do the same thing from 1st to 2nd but I would change the fluid out every year so that problem was solved some what. But this newer one only has 8,000 miles and I broke in the car for 1000 miles properly, so I don’t know why it would do it especially intermittently that’s why I haven’t taken it in yet cause the dealer may not notice it and I don’t want to waste my time going if they can’t reproduce the issue. Should I wait till it gets worse?
@BCautosolutions9 ай бұрын
@@Noboost808 yeah I would wait to see if you can get it to happen more often. I haven’t driven too many 1.5t as most of them coming in are hybrid. It could be a normal characteristic unfortunately or possibly something that will get corrected with a software update down the line. It doesn’t hurt to bring it up next time your in for service but tell them it’s intermittent so the tech isn’t going crazy for hours looking for it 😅

I am a Honda guy. But I am starting to look at other brands. We still have our 1997 Honda Accord. 200K miles. I do not believe it ever had a recall. Loved my old 1999 Honda Civic, outgrew it, so I sold it years ago. My 2009 Honda Crv has just been fantastic. It even spent 2 years in Denver with my brother. Now it's back home in sunny California. My 2019 Honda Ridgeline has had its share of small recalls. Honda quality control is starting to slip. Its current recall for my truck is for a fuel pump. My CRV has 190k miles on it. The Ridgeline has 43K miles on it. I am thinking about selling it. The design team for Honda is really producing some boring looking cars to me. The last design I loved was the 2017 body type. The 2024 model looks very boring to me. And I truly do not like the front plastic looking grill. Toyota design team is doing a much better job than Honda. The body style for the Camary is truly sporty. Not sure If I will be buying another Honda. They are starting to dumb down their quality controls. Cheap parts mean a cheap car.

Dealer replaced the rack & pinion at 6K because it was creaking while stationary turning and turning at low speeds. Creaking so loudly if was heard 2 blocks away. The dealer flagged it as a serious safety issue, and keep the car for a week until they could figure it out. Apparently, a Honda Engineer from 150 miles away came out to look at it. They also fixed a squeak in the AC blower and another one the display unit. This model seems to sit very low causing us to scrape the aluminum splash guard on the regular. Sounds like a aluminum can being crushed. Talk about a noisy car. In addition to all that we're noticing the paint seems to chip very easily.

It's a little early to say the new or revised 1.5 is going to have HG issues. First, proper maintenance especially oil changes and tier 1 fuel are a must. Second, Honda of Japan made internal changes to the 23 Accord 1.5 and are silent about what they did. The Hybrid is outstanding but time will tell on reliability. Hopefully the battery pack will last 8-10 years. Replacement cost though should be minimal at that point with a refurbed unit.
