I have to say this is by far the best the crv has looked by a mile. It looks basically like a mazda/volvo mash up and that’s fine. The squaring off is very helpful for cargo on top of that. Great proportions from all angles

Have one. Accurate review. Love this car - went with the EX AWD. Cloth seats, but tons of standard equipment. Good way to save a few grand. Just a great all around car. Emotionally, it’s a very familiar, calming, warm blanket of a car. It is always there when you need it. Will say this: I always turn off start stop, and haven’t noticed an acceleration stumble. It is not fast, though.

im never looking for a family friendly vehicle and I have no kids now or in my future but I still watch every video and enjoy the reviews. thanks for the fun and quality reviews. ps.I still don't fully comprehend the elbow score, I have been know to overthink things, but I just drawn a blank when you score the arm rest and centre storage using your elbows and percents values. pps. seems like the long torso is a common among the car review crowd, I will normally hear it several times while watching all of my favourite YT car reviewers.

Just got my 2023 CRV sport AWD. The most important thing to me is it still feels like a Honda. Handling is better than expected. I got about 42 MPG in Las Vegas area for first week. For reference, my 2008 Civic LX is about 28 MPG for the same daily use.

Looks good, nice interior. Hate the CVT, also this costs $3-5k more than some of its small crossover competitors when similarly equipped. Basically you pay for Honda’s reputation for reliability, but “small displacement turbo” and “cvt” are not synonymous with longevity in the car world.

Very few people buy a base model when you get so much extra by moving to a medium-trim. Micah *did* say which trim level gives "the best bang for the buck" (Sport Hybrid).

Oh, that iguana really got a workout today! Behave you two....and umm, okay 90's Micah!! How could Evie ever resist? As far as Honda is concerned, I am heartbroken. Not even for this vehicle reviewed here, but because the European design of the HRV is absolutely gorgeous and we totally got shafted with the American design. Gone is all the coolness for us, left with a humdrum and dare I say ugly heap of leftover trash. My one man boycott of all things Honda persists until they do right by us!! You guys rock...love your vidz.

Wish auto journalist would ditch the complaints about hard plastic especially when it's not where you'd touch intentionally. Hard plastic don't scuff easily. It's a good thing. The old mazdaspeed 3 had soft touch on the glove door and that just scuffed like mad. I am a fan of using hard plastics where you are likely to scuff. I mean do you wear jeans or do you like wearing silk robs with nothing under it if you are going hiking? If on a regular drive you don't notice the hard plastic, it's not a problem imho.

Love your videos, Micah! I like the looks of this CR-V overall, and I like that it's more "boxy" than the previous version, but the front overhang seems disproportionately long. I wish its proportions were more like the Volvo XC40.

'Same here, about the disproportionately-long front overhang. It just looks wrong (and negates some of the benefit of higher ground clearance), but is maybe a cheaper way to improve frontal crash scores.

Very relevant video (even more than most!). We've a 2007 CRV and have ordered a 2023 CRV Sport Touring Hybrid. Although our test drive wasn't as fun as this video. Thanks for this. We looked at the Kia Sportage and Hyndai Tucson. Both were priced thousands over MSRP locally, so we chose the route "order and wait" rather than "order and wait, ...and pay lots extra".

I find sport mode for those quick from a stop take offs helps a bit. Kills the auto start stop and seems like it preps the CVT for the lowest ratio. Now that dent on the hood of the 08 CRV, seems like there's a story there. Maybe its time for a 15 year update video???

We’re a CR-V loyal family, currently have a 2010 and 2015 in our driveway plus owned the much-loved ‘99 1st gen. That said, the Sportage hybrid is high in our list this time as Honda seems casually indifferent to their competition. That’s a shame.

I had the 3rd generation crv for 4years, currently have the 5th gen for the past 4 years, have booked the 6th gen gas crv which I am getting next year. I drove the gas model Rav, outlander, xtrail, cx5, tucson, sportage and only the cx5 came close in terms of interior/exterior feel, finished quality, driving dynamics and handling to the crv but I wanted a bigger shopping trolley 🛒

Love the family review, with all the adult subtexts. Good take away lessons other than the product review. Absorb and calm is a favorite. I'm a little bummed that Honda gave the Accord everything. Not even the Pilot gets the 12-inch screen and only the Elite gets ventilated seats. Nonetheless, the 2023 CRV-Touring is top on my list.

I really liked your video and just subscribed. I am thinking of buying this model. Therefore, I would expect the Honda CRV to last many years and to be a cost efficient buy in the long run but my concern would be the Honda hybrid sport or any hybrid. What happens in 6 to 10 years? Would I need new batteries? Would the value go down? A sales guy said to me I would not keep it that long anyway. So off to the junkyard or pay for new batteries?. What do you think? Thanks

Oh, if your partner doesn’t like the burgundy color, another option you can try is a vinyl wrap for about probably three to $5000. You can wrap it and it will be good for a couple years.

What’s up with the super awkward center rear shoulder belt? The way it comes out of the ceiling cuts across the left rear headrest or the neck of the left rear passenger! That is totally unacceptable. Not digging the lack of features that the last generation had that’s been omitted from the new model. Such obvious cost cutting - and Honda just expects its customer base to accept it. That’s just wrong. 👎

The blind spot monitoring and rear cross traffic alert are optional in all but the very top hybrid trim. Very disappointed by Honda cheaping out like this.

One thing j don’t like in the crv is when your hauling lots of rigid thing in the back there is no padding on the side walls so it gets scratched up really easy

The styling is definitely better. I never considered a CR-V before however this new generation looks quite appealing. Horsepower and torque could be higher like 240hp and 289 lb ft of torque. Interior is great. I definitely think that Honda makes more attractive vehicles than Toyota.

The Ex and EX-L do, the Sport and Sport Touring do not. They only have a tire repair kit since the battery takes up the space where the spare would go.

Looks like they moved the seam on the center armrest from the previous generation. My 2021 Hybrid always dug into my elbow. Hopefully the Hybrid fixes the delay issue seen here, with the immediate electric power without needing the engine running would likely resolve it... that and not having a real transmission via the e-cvt.

Subscribed. Absolutely solid review. Informative, entertaining, and wholesome. I think the family-in-car reviews might be what will give this channel the edge. You won't need to do it all the time. A solo review would be great for a car that men might be drawn to, like a Challenger or BMW. It will have the feel of a guy talking to another guy. Just you and the wife might be perfect for a smaller Lexus vehicle. Bring the family along on SUV reviews and for cars marketed to families.

We really need a PHEV option. Unless Honda has more input on standards and designs with their GM partnership, I’m underwhelmed that their first BEV (2024 Prologue) is basically a rebadged and remolded equinox BEV. It feels like a low effort placeholder so they can say they too have a BEV in the market but likely it will not have the same Honda spirit or experience

Nice review I live in Northern Europe, we have just now started to get the Mk6 CRV here , I have had every CRV from the mk1,I had all the Turbo diesel models up to 2016 the last was the twin Turbo 1.6 in 2016 when Honda dropped the Diesel from the line up I traded in for a mk5 1.5 Ex AWD with a manual gearbox, , the Mk5 is a great car and has done everything I have wanted, as a 1.5 T it surpassed my expectations I was very sceptical that it would. I have just just had my 1st test drive of the new CRV its only the Hybrid here no 1.5 anymore and to be honest I did not like it, I had it for a weekend, I disliked the CVT transmission it was very noisy when not in EV mode and the car engine seamed to over rev to get up to speed, in EV mode it was very serene but EV mode does not last long when you are in it as the Engine kicks in after 4 miles of driving which I thought was poor, it was a lot slower in my opinion from my 1.5T manual transmission and the mk6 feels a lot heavier the fuel consumption was nothing special . I like the interior of the new model but the price has made me think its not worth swapping my mk5 for , its very expensive here far more than I would pay for any Honda, I can buy a Volvo XC 60 for the price of the Hybrid CRV and Volvo has been a car that has been out of my price range , so I feel Honda are over pricing the CRV in Europe (not sure about the pricing in the USA )to make it compete with Volvo and Audi the CRV is not up to Volvos or Audi quality or style so I would have to go for a Volvo over the CRV, I cannot see the CRV selling that well here for that reason I think Honda are on another planet when they priced these cars. I will be keeping my mk5 for sometime it would appear.
