I loved this video! This is the kind of driving I was waiting to see of the new HRV! Every other review on youtube just gives up after 2 seconds of wheel slipping and claim it can't handle it. This video is pretty damn clear as to the capability of how the HRV can tackle some small offroad trails.

i had the last gen and i live in alaska and i did all kinds of light trails and snowy roads with this thing and it ate it up. i think people need to realize how good new cars are with a little effort on your part. great car

The Awd that hrv and crv use is for snow and other situations , not for off-road because the Awd send only a few power to the the tyre that it needed , the Awd for passport , ridgeline and Pilot send more power to the tire I believe more than 90%

Sure, 99.99% of potential HR-V buyers wouldn’t take themselves on this level of off-road course but that just shows how pretty capable this small crossover is, albeit a bit struggling in some situations. I’m part of that 0.01% population with interest in this car who’ll take this thing on dirt roads and off the beaten path. Quite a nice daily driver in my opinion.

I find it amusing to watch this as off roading but we must realize this is not expected to be used beyond this level but should be great for what the AWD is intended , snow and slippery roads . this SUV would do much better with the traction control off allowing the tire spin to be more aggressive at all four wheels .
