WOW great race there man. I've never done a full marathon, but I would like to do at least one eventually. Most I've done up to in training was a half marathon, but that was just a half marathon and it took me about 1:40 to complete. Also, all four of the 10ks I've done were in the early fall in high humid temps with some moderate inclines on the race courses. I'm surprised by the amount of gels and Gatorade you used but it is a very wise strategy to take all the aid station things you need. That definitely helps to have people cheering you on as you go as well.

It would interesting to see a video summarizing how you got back into such strong shape after your PE. Was it more strength training? Long distance? Speed work? Etc

I think mainly just time. For some reason something is getting a bit better with my lungs now it seems. Solid, consistent training (higher mileage) and high intensity workouts seem to help.
