Good morning. This run looked a little bit more painful than last year. You both deserve those medals and a good lie down. Congratulations on getting it done.🏆🏅🏃

Congratulations, much respect to you both for beating last year's time. Loved the video and you've earned a nice long rest.

I noticed you ladies didn't have any hydration vests. How'd you gals stay hydrated during the run? And how long did you train with your run day shoes before marathon day?
@alexusandmichi11 күн бұрын
We didn’t practice with hydration vests so we didn’t want to change it up for the marathon. There’s sooo many hydration stations along the way, though, so we just had water at every station! We also had some electrolyte tablets that are supposed to help stay hydrated longer when you take them with water. And we used our run day shoes for two of the long runs we did before marathon day!

workout plan recommendation? thinking about running it next year
@alexusandmichi7 ай бұрын
We wouldn’t really recommend our workout plan haha. We have a video about how we prepared though if you want to see it :) You should start at least 6 months before and then run at least 3 times a week. We did like 1-2 times but people recommend 3 or more. Super slow so that you can still talk. We started with 5ks because we couldn’t do more than that. Once it felt easy we did 10k and so on. And then the longest we did right before the marathon was a half marathon but people recommend around 20 miles for your longest run. Hope this helps :) You should definitely run! It’s sooo much fun in Honolulu because no one worries about a time limit! Good luck and have so much fun training!

Nice job!! when does registration usually open? does it sell out quick?
@alexusandmichi9 ай бұрын
I think it starts pretty early next year, maybe in January/Feb! It doesn’t sell out and I think you can keep registering until the day before even, but it does get very expensive the longer you wait to sign up! There’s no time limit for this marathon, so lotssss of people run it!

How much of it did you girls walk and how much did you girls run? I just did a 10km and trying to gauge if a marathon is possible for me.
@alexusandmichi9 ай бұрын
We walked every now and then.. but in total only a few km (I would say less than 5k). This looked like walking the hills, a little after 17k when seeing our friends and finishing our drinks, and every water station while we finished our cups of water. We also walked maybe 2 km (not all at once) in the very end when we were feeling pretty beat. Then we would go back to jogging at a pace of ~8-min/km.
