I finally test ride and review the 2023 Husqvarna Norden 901, I personally think the best looking adventure motorcycle on the market today. Heavily based on the KTM 890 Adventure platform, with the same engine and chassis etc...
However the Norden 901, is different in more ways than just the looks! With semi retro styling, yet loaded with modern technology. The Husqvarna Norden 901 really does stand out from the crowd and put the fun back into adventure motorcycling. A very impressive motorcycle on and off road.

I’m glad you liked this one! The Norden is the bike that I initially wanted to replace my Suzuki DR800 with but due to the lack of a Husqvarna dealership in Luxembourg I headed to KTM. With the 890 Adventure having the sort of looks only a mother could love, after a test ride and your video on it… and Sam Vincent’s videos, I ended up with the 1290 SAS. One could say that Luxembourg is so small that I could have bought the Norden over in Germany, France or Belgium. Fair enough. I bought my Royal Enfield Classic 500 in Germany, had a problem with it under warranty but wasn’t allowed to cross the border during lockdown… once bitten, twice shy! KTM Luxembourg is working on a bigger place to accommodate Gas Gas and Husqvarna too, so let’s see what the future brings. I’m still speculating on a Norden 1301! 😊 A no-brainer for the guys and girls in Mattighofen in my opinion. Cracking video as always! Cheers, Lupo

I agree with you, that is a good looking bike. It says a lot for it that you were excited to get back on it and wanted to do more off roading. If you can remember, how did it compare to the Aprillia Tuareg? I know the Aprillia is a lower cc.😊

Yup exactly, being excited to jump back on is a great sign of a good bike! This is faster and handles better than the Tuareg. A better touring machine thats for sure

The front end without a beak like the Suzuki V-Strom loox very good to me. All the ADV bixe do look like they are made by Lego with all the plastix.😊. Nice review and congratulations on the off roading. Yuve proved it can handle some potholes which is what our roads are made of!

👍 good point, that is a great feature to the looks and design of the bike. It is "plasticky", but I think manages to look good despite all. the plastic! Nothing on a Speedmaster 😉 Thanks, yes it wasn't extreme off roading however it handled it with ease!

@@redangrevival In fairness all the ADV bixe are covered in plastic. If the bike is dropped and the bits get broken they're cheapish to replace I guess.

Angus, another thing in common with the KTM is that gap above the bash plate which allows the font wheel to coat the exhaust headers. You’ll notice 4 holes which is where you screw the Powerparts optional cover for sixty quid or so. For a bike that’s hardly cheap this type of thing irks. I spent £20 on an ABS alternative which looks good and does a great job.

Great review as ever! I loved the concept bike but Husqvarna managed to drag it out and it lost the adaptive cruise control it was supposed to have. Heated grips aren’t standard and, I’m sure other things. The soft luggage looks really dreadful which is bizarre for a bike so long in development. The screen gets a general slating again, no real excuse. I went for a standard KTM 890 Adventure having no Husqvarna dealer anywhere close. I’m very happy with it but prefer the look of the Husky truth be told and the TFT which makes it’s way on to the latest 890s. A whopping discount helped my decision and it’s ideal for my needs: adventure pothole dodging.

I’m curious how does it stack up against the Tiger 900 GT Pro or Rallye Pro? I like the look of it and the Tiger but haven’t ridden the Norden

I would say the Norden is more of a lively riding experience! Sportier and more aggressive engine. The Tiger's are premium and smoother feeling. Its a tough choice to make!

I prefer the looks of the KTM 890 Adv. Not keen on the black/yellow colour scheme of this Norden 901. I prefer orange. I don't get the point of them? Is the difference compared to the KTM 890 just cosmetic? I know you say Husquarna include the QS from the get-go but KTM only give it to you until the first service and then you have to pay which is tight, but is this all? The engine and power output is the same?

Yup the engine is exactly the same. It really is the same bike, just different clothing. I prefer the looks

Looks are subjective I know but sorry mate this just does not do anything for me and at £12,000 ! wow their is a lot more out there I would rather have ( bit negative I know). I hope others don't try and follow KTM "The Keep Taking Money brand '' stiffing people for money . Not sure if I missed it but have you done the new Honda Hornet yet ? . 😉👍
