I own a 1999 VFR800 with 20k miles on it in mint condition, fully tuned, stainless steel exhaust and growls and spits flames and it's stupidly fast. I also have a 2024 ZX6R, only changed the exhaust and fender delete, it's fast, it's quick. I also own this 2023 Ninja 400 and you are absolutely correct, it's fun, comfortable and very nimble. I did do an exhaust and an ECU flash, so it's quite a bit more peppier and I ride the 400 more than my other ones, it will do freeways with no problem and is fast enough to get you in trouble if you look for it. In case you are wondering how fast it is with a ECU tune, it's 131Mph actual.

100%. It is just such a lovely all-round bike. I have a Daytona 675, which I love, but if I were being brutally honest (and I would never admit to people I know) but I probably have more fun (and certainly a much easier ride) on the 400

The analogue tach is one of the reasons I flipped preference from Yamaha R3 to the Ninja 400. I loved the R3's previous gauge, with aviation-style dial. Then they switched to an all-digital display, kinda boring 😞

Couldn't agree more what you say about this little bike. Been riding for over 50yrs and owned many bikes up to 1000cc. This bike is up there with the best and probably the best all round bike I've ever owned. Get the suspension sorted and it's just great! Fitted KTech suspension and now just so much improved. Coming up for 3 yrs ownership and have no intention of selling it.😊

@gradun123

@@ofazz6066 No it's not that bad. Just that I'm only 5' 6" and weigh 9 stone (126lbs). It was a bit on the harsh side with the preload on the lowest setting but changing to a good quality rear shock with a spring to suit my weight made a big difference. I thoroughly recommend this bike..

Hello Kuraki! Reading your post 10 months later, how did it go with you bike choice? I am also going to learn motorcycling this year and it seems this bike or Yamaha R3 are nice beginners bikes. I am 50 yo, never rode any bike but my 16 yo is learning his A1 (125cc in Europe) licence and I want to ride with him this summer! Tell me about your first year! We are from Norway, which means most motorcycles don’t drive from october to april and it’s a seasonal hobby! We can’t wait to begin! (Writing this on jan. 31 2023)
@Pacific81x
@Pacific81x 8 ай бұрын
@@enrage6073 I hope Kuraki doesn't mind me replying here, but my partner (who is also a new rider) just got the Ninja 400 and I cannot tell you how good the bike is. A wonderfully responsive engine, fun to ride, the chassis and handling is beautiful (you think and it turns). You have a nice riding position (it's comfortable) and it is more than fast enough for the roads - overtaking in the countryside and going from 40/50 to 70/80mph for a quick pass is easy, but it's also not so powerful that you can scare yourself too much. I'm commenting as a (part time) motorcycle instructor, I've ridden a lot of bikes over the years and this is probably one of the most well-rounded. Certainly I found this a much more comfortable and easy to ride bike than the 650 equivalent (I don't like the engine on that bike, which is very agricultural). That the 400 is a very reasonable price is a great bonus too!

Many, many years ago when I was just a lad my first big boy was a GSXR-400, it was okay, a little tame, little lardy for a 400. Swapped it for the old ZXR-400 with the tubes running into the tank. Man that thing shifted like a stabbed rat. All my mates at work at 900's or 1000's even a few 1100 and 1300's. They would leave me on the straights, but when we got to the corners and the twisty bits they were throwing out the anchors while I just sailed through them and was leading the pack...till the next straights. Lot of them downgraded there 1,000's to 6's for the balance between straight line speed and cornering. 20 years later and about to get back into biking and I want another of these little pocket rockets that are so much fun to ride. Any idiot can do 150mph in a straight line, playing in the twistys and the bends is where the fun is and this little pocket rocket excels at that.

I own a few bikes including a Ducati 939 Supersport which i love. But i recently bought a Ninja 400 because i liked it that much. The handling feels telepathic. I just think the line i want to take and the bike just goes there. I enjoy it for totally different reasons then my 939. There is something about riding a less powerful bike that you can rev out and easily handle that is a joy. As apposed to having a really fast but bigger and heavier bike that you are always holding back on because the bike is more capable then your riding ability. And i say that as an experienced rider who's been riding for many years.
@ScoutsOut

So true! And funny as I bought my ninja 400 when my 939 was my primary bike. I got it back then mainly to slow down the miles I was quickly stacking up on the Ducati and pleasantly came to the same conclusion of the n400. I then started getting into track days with it, such a great bike!

Far left and right options lol, the gsxr 750 is basically a liter bike, it’s got more power than a 600 and less weight than a liter bike, not a great beginner bike imo. The rebel 1100 would have good grunt but a safer starter imo is you are leaning more towards a cruiser style bike

Can someone please tell me how hard or complex clutches are to use??
@ScoutsOut
@ScoutsOut Жыл бұрын
It’s not hard just takes time to learn how to do it, you apply throttle and slowly let out the clutch until you feel the bike start to move, once the bike is going keep slowly letting out the clutch until its all the way out. When riding to change the gear you pull the clutch back in, change the gear with your left foot and let the clutch back out again. Hope this helps, if you have a MSF course in your area i would recommend taking it as it will teach you all of that. Best to due before buying a bike
