Go Corvette, after 3 seasons it must be the quickest it has ever been since 2020. Some very solid performance from the McLaren 720S, if not for that mechanic....those German battles during the very last lap never get boring. What a great event and those aerial shots at the end were just tops!

Highlights and Observations: 1. Corvette Racing getting their second win of the season closing the points gap. 2. What a debut for Roxie to come in sixth in GTD. Also there was a guy dressed in a pink T-Rex costume to promote the car. 3. Sheena Monk has done well jumping from the Michelin Pilot Challenge series. Finish in the top 10. Also being apart of the only female duo with Katherine Legge on the field.

All the cars being on the same lap at the end of 2 hours and 40 minutes is a pretty decent BOP.I think the Aston Martin was a little down on power but at the beginning of the season they were getting the breaks.I`m just surprised that the Lexus and Corvette were so even considering how bad IMSA has been penalizing Corvette`s great drivers.

Curse of the commentator. Jeremy “it won’t rain ti’ll after the race.” The weather responds and it immediately starts to rain. 😂

When In the race did it happen?

Huh? it only briefly sprinkled. I don't think Jeremy was even there. He was calling the race remotely - he kept asking Shae for weather update on the track. She was the only person on-site.

You think the people who run the track would eventually realize that if the cars in the dirt on every corner, the track is too narrow for high performance racing. The layout is good, but it's like their racing on golf cart paths, rubbish.
@chipattack9124 ай бұрын
The track is as wide as any normal track… not sure what you’re on. It’s the track’s fault drivers run wide sometimes into the grass? You’d rather have a Tilke track where drivers don’t have to stay on the course?

I've been to Mid-Ohio, Watkins Glen, Daytona 24Hr, Road America, Sebring and this track is the absolute WORST for fan viewing. Holy crap... sight lines are horrible, how about investing in some fan amenities like more bleachers towards the esses and more viewing areas near the old oak area. There's a reason why on TV you think no one is there - no fan viewing area!!
@imsaofficial9 ай бұрын
You may want to contact the track directly to provide them your feedback: info@VIRnow.com Thanks!
@BlackMan6149 ай бұрын
@@imsaofficial Thanks for the contact info. I will reach out to them. Such a shame for such a beautiful facility otherwise.
@ikaros42039 ай бұрын
sure put big ugly bleachers everywhere and ruin the beautiful countryside...... there are plenty of good viewing spots without them. consider standing at them or bringing a chair.
@chipattack9124 ай бұрын
@@BlackMan614I agree it could be better but the corners you can access easily: first couple of turns, Oak Tree, top of the rollercoaster are all such good corners that they make up for any other areas the track is lacking. Daytona is a boring track to watch a race at. Sebring is unique but not nearly as good as VIR because it also lacks elevation change.
@farv42079 ай бұрын
Would have been better live streamed. Just not the same after the fact, probably because I know who won. All this lock out nonsense with advertisers is lame. Sponsorship all over the cars, all over the track and we cant find a compromise to live stream and broadcast TV?? I have watched a lot more SRO GT America this year than IMSA.
@FarrYaweh8 ай бұрын
Every IMSA race is livestreamed. What are you on about?

I'm a little disappointed in Corvette Racing moving to the Ferrari knockoff platform. Maybe they should have renamed the model. A real Corvette sports a front-engine V8. Any nominees for model name? "Chevy LemansGT" maybe?
@newtonfirefly35849 ай бұрын
You obviously don't agree with the developer of "Corvette" Zorin, Mitchell along with DeLorean that designed, developed, desired the mid-engine "Corvette" for the C2, and proposed C3, but not accepted. Also Porsche, BMW, McLaren, others use a mid-engine vehicle within GT class along with certainly all LMP classes. mid-engine has been the best within Indy, F1, F3, F2000, LeMans, open wheel, closed wheel for many decades, nearly 60 years. The next opportunity was the C4, which was delayed, the same timing as their first mid-engine vehicle the Pontiac Fiero. GM also block the mid-engine Corvette for Gen 4, and reduced the Fiero Sports car, roadster to a mere 'sporty' roadster. The later Fiero GT with their smaller 2.8 L V6 has better suspension as the Corvette C4, with the improved power. The common 3.8 L V-6 3800 SC swap enables the vehicle to be very useful. Some also swap into it a 5.3 L LS4 along with Turbocharger(s) for the best performance. Have seen one individual swap with a Corvette LT-1 for more power yet.

It's not up to crybabies on the internet to decide what a Corvette is. It's up to Chevrolet. Get over yourself.

I hate how ALL motorsport cameras change to another camera RIGHT WHEN the cars are being viewed on the perfect angle showing the brutality of speed and traction. It seems like all live cameras are the same... a pivoting camera on an angle, showing what could essentially be the same the same boring corner over and over again. How about setting up more static cameras in areas for example the initial part of a high speed corner facing the direction the cars are traveling as they blow on by the camera on the limits of traction...Or maybe a static camera on turn 5 facing towards Snake showing the rears of the cars as they fly into and continue into Snake. There was a camera there during this broadcast, but the camera changed so fast the Mercedes didn't even have a chance to get its rear tires past the apex of the corner before the camera switched back to generic boring pivot camera again.😂 IMSA has shots of great angles, but they're taken by a photographer and uploaded as youtube shorts... not a part of the actual live race coverage.
