Why are the A/C controls always on screen when there are buttons for it right below? I will never understand this design choice. Having them both is redundant and a waste of electronics/ screen space. You should be able to remove it from the screen. Ford need to update this and soon

I’ve been waiting for this sort of power/torque in a ute for along time. I’ve already ordered a white Sports V6 model with the touring pack option which is due out in October. I tow a 2.5t caravan with a Holden Colorado (500Nm). 600Nm will definitely be handy 👍👍
@JDMEVOVIGSR2 жыл бұрын
The new Ranger weighs a ridiculous 2400kgs, so it will need all of those 600Nm. Late model D-Max with a basic remap will blow the doors off this thing.
@351tgv2 жыл бұрын
@@JDMEVOVIGSR - how quickly people forget that the AWD Territory also had a kerb weight of around 2,350kg and that had the 2.7L version of this engine and that only produced 440Nm from 1,900rpm to around 2,400rpm, and TURBO LAG is a massive issue, so far none of the reviews have said anything about turbo lag with the 3.0L version.
@1989cranston2 жыл бұрын
@@JDMEVOVIGSR I'm so confused, you are saying a remapped car would " blow the doors off" this stock car... no shit Sherlock. If you ever want to compare anything mate, do it apples to apples so it actually makes sense. Put a tune on the V6 and then put it up against your remapped D-max.
@JDMEVOVIGSR2 жыл бұрын
@@1989cranston I guess it is easy for a simpleton to get confused. The difference is, the 4jj3 will make the power reliably with better economy than the V6 ever will. Put a tune on the Land Rover derived V6 if you want a hand grenade.

I'm in the market for a new ute and have been waiting for this review! The new FORD F truck inspired design language is simply breathtaking, and should allow this new model to age gracefully. Whats holding me back from ordering one is the price. When you look at Ssangyong, LDV and GWM the drive away pricing of most "mainstream" dual cab utes feel like daylight robbery nowadays, and this Ranger is no different. Compare the 2.0 Wildtrack at $72k with a range topping GWM 2.0 at $45k, for example. Both have similar warranties, levels of luxury touches, safety and infotainment tech. Sure, the Ranger unit produces 24kw and 100Nm more and has arguably the more sorted ride quality but what else are you getting for the extra $27000, apart from an established badge!? I think the big players need a reality check.. but sadly they will continue to push pricing upwards if we continue to keep buying their products. Looks like I'll be buying second hand, again.

Because the sschingchongyong and ldv utes are made in china. Most people don't want to drive around in a ute from communist china that will fund China's invasion on Australia.

I wished for the V6 Diesel to be in the Raptor. Would love that low down grunt of the V6 diesel with the suspension of the Raptor. Now really font know. Definitely won't buy a petrol so perhaps trade my Wildtrack for a new one. Or perhaps wait to see What the new Hilux will bring. With rumors pointing to a Wildtrack competitor might be worth waiting a bit. I'm pretty sure they won't make the mistake of having the top model in petrol only

is the steering really light when at high way speeds. You seems to be adjusting it all the time, Another review i watched showed the same thing . Is it not tracking very well

No, it's not lightweight that is in the same way that a D-Max is. I thought the steering feel is quite good, there is some weight but not leaden. And, it was happy to track along the highway happily. Maybe I was adjusting as I was balancing driving and talking to camera.... - Sam

So I just picked up a new Ranger Wildtrak V6. I wan to know why none of the reviews I have seen never discussed the fatigue management systems in the Ranger along with the problematic lane centering system. The fatigue management system or a serious distraction and I believe a hazard. I got told to have a break less than 5 minutes after having done so. The Lane keeping is another big issues that I have never seen comment on. Driving the pot hole riddled Bruce Highway I turned off the Lane keep crap because I was constantly dogging pot holes. The stupid bloody system was turning its self back on while driving and of course because I was dogging pot holes the car said to have a break again. I want to know why you reviewers have never mentioned this?

Ford Territory used a very similar version of this engine since 2011 the only major issue is timing belt and flywheel, in general the "Lion" engine that was a joint development with PSA have been pretty much bullet proof. Ford have claimed that changed the turbo and exhaust manifold for Ranger over the F150 spec of this engine (which Ford no longer sell for F150), in general it should be good provided owners don't use BIO-05/10 diesel.

Ok so let us get real Australia, most of these reviews are pretty standard and, in my view, Australia is robbed blind, and dealers can do it because we have little choice and then there is the wow got to have it factor from buyers. The vehicle itself is not that special, in fact it is quite agricultural like all dual cabs in Oz, with the exception of the GWM which is plush compared to the au natural picks ups we have. Let us look at price for a start, in the USA the equivalent to a Wild track is less than $50 grand, in fact a 2022 Velocity Blue Metallic Ford Ranger Lariat 10-Speed Automatic, 2.3L I4 16V GDI DOHC Turbo in a dual cab is $46,330 and that is with a dealer $100 incentive. In Australia, the Luxe Yellow 2022 Wild track Ranger 10-Speed Automatic 2.0L Bi-Turbo Diesel in a dual cab is $74,466. While the US models have various interior colours, in Australia with our hot climate we have black. If you jump up to the 3.0L V6 Turbo Diesel 10AT Full-Time 4WD Double Cab Pick-up with an “Estimated Drive Away Price” not an actual drive away price, its $78,139. So have these mid-size pick ups seen their last days with GWM offering a top spec vehicle for under $50 grand or do you go whole hog and buy the RAM or equivalent for $112 grand and get something that is real, spacious and comfortable for the whole family. $112 grand is ridiculous as well. Toyota build a Tundra, which is a three hundred series Landcruiser only in a pickup, it offers the best of both worlds for families and Toyota are talking about bringing that into Oz. With no car industry in Oz, we are at the mercy of manufacturers and dealers are rubbing their hands together taking a gullible market for an expensive ride. How can manufacturers claim to be meeting family car needs, while dealers flog these out as commercial vehicles with a commercial price.
@gregjacques31592 жыл бұрын
I wonder what the price comparison would be when converted from US dollars to Australian dollars? Also the 1500, 2500 and 3500 utes from Chev, Ram and soon Ford are all converted to right hand drive here in Australia which adds to the expense. When you consider the Toyota Landcruser GXL is $112,000 the Sahara is $143,000 and the GR Sport is $150,000 without having to be converted the RHD. so theres that! But I agree that the price of our midsize utes as the Americans call them are still ridiculessly priced compare to simarly sized / equiped wagons and sedans. How ever I realy comend Ford for finaly including rear airconditioning vernts, brake controller, all wheel drive, great size screen with multiple camera angles and finaly AUXILIARY SWITCHES even if only as an extra cost option I think that historicaly and presently the Ranger is a much better value for money proposition than the Hilux and has proved to be just as reliable. I feel all cars seem to have their mechanical issues from model to model it's just a mater of if their is an aftermaket fix and at what cost. Toyota fans seem to forget the injector, and DPF problems the Hiluxes had, and the weak CV joints and air cleaners that allowed dust to get sucked through to the engine in the Landcruisers. The Air cleaner fault was in the 200 series and didn't get fixed in the 300 series either.

2023, ford can’t deliver the 2022, 12 month wait time, as for the excitement of the V6, Nissan Frontier in the states run a 3.8 litre V6, while fords base model engine in its ranger is 2.3 litre turbo. Most of these so called Ozzie pickups can’t carry a push bike. Your pricing is way out as well. Ranger WILDTRAK 3.0L V6 Turbo Diesel 10AT Full-Time 4WD Double Cab Pick-up Estimated Drive Away Price $78,139, 2.0L Bi-Turbo Diesel 10AT Part-Time 4x4Double Cab Pick-up Estimated Drive Away Price $74,466, the XLT and sport isn’t much cheaper.
