I bought a new ‘23 pro 4x last year and I am very happy with it. To get the same off road capability in the Tacoma would’ve cost me about 10k more due to trim level/option availability. I was able to find exactly what I really needed with the Frontier.

I got a '23 P4X and love it. They are feature rich, simple but tanky and offer the best price to feature options in the small truck market. Plus you get that naturally aspirated V6 which Nissan has been perfecting for decades.

Got 5 year extended 100k mile warranty. 6 years 90k maintenance Gap For 84 months at 694 (I know I know) But I love the car

I have a '23, love the truck; hate that there is still little to none aftermarket support for some items. Example, Bilstein does not offer front 5100s or 6112s for the Gen 3 and they recommend not using the ones for the gen 2 and older. Same with Fox no 2.0 fronts for the Gen 3. To become as good as Toyota, and maybe to actually "scare" them; we need aftermarket support. And Bilstein, when contacted, will not even say why they do not recommend the gen 2 5100s from use on a Gen 3. BS on bilstein. Most likely they would not be offering the 4600s if they had not already made them for the pro-4x model. Yea, we can use spacers for a lift and there are plenty to choose from; however, up to 1.5 in might require a new set of upper control arms to stop any coil bucket contact and for sure you need new UCA if over 1.5 inch of lift from a spacer.

My gripes are with the Apple CarPlay is a major pain if you also intend to listen to your Sirius XM while you drive. I’ve put 17,000 miles on this truck in 5 months. Also when the truck shows zero miles to empty the app on your phone will always say 35 miles to empty. Sounds great until you realize now matter how many times you’ve been out of gas, the app will ALWAYS say you can still eke out 35 more miles. And If you love a vehicle that will slam on the brakes before it will let you back into some grass then this is for you lol

I literally just turned in a 2021 TRD Off Road lease (could have bought it; leather, heated seats, sunroof) for a Nissan Pro4X. I admit I was surprised that the Nissan is significantly nicer. Drives much nicer, nicer interior, quieter cabin, great attention to detail, lots of features and tech for the money. The Toyota is likely a little bit better for off road but the Nissan meets my needs for winter 4x4, spring potholes, and the occasional trip to the Off Road park to tool around. I also like the look of the stance of the Toyota slightly better but the Nissan is easier to reach in to the bed and will be easier to load my dirt bike in to after a long day at the motocross track. Leather, heated seats, heated steering wheel, 9” screen, wireless Apple CarPlay, sunroof, 360 camera, front camera, side camera, Traffic Sign Recognition (reads the speed limit signs and put it next to the speedometer), dampened tailgate, electronic locking tailgate that locks and unlocks with the doors, cargo bed lights, illuminated door sill, blind spot monitoring, etc etc…and a V6 engine that has a reputation similar to Toyotas. Best audio system I’ve heard in a car…better than the JBL in my Tacoma and better than the Bose in my Camaro SS…it’s a Fender system with a dedicated subwoofer. $47,000. And it leased well because it has a good residual at $36,000. $2,000 down, $559/mo. A similarly equipped 2024 TRD Off Road is over $55,000. Toyota website is saying $6,000 down, $680/mo. for that truck. I’m sure it’s a great truck but I just couldn’t justify the difference.

@pnwdweler41009 ай бұрын
Frontier is made in the USA and the Tacoma is made in Mexico. The P4X has a fully boxed frame, Dana 44 rear axle, Spicer transfer case, and a better crawl ratio. The Tacoma has none of those things.

The Wilderness trims by subaru are super capable for sure. The lack of low range and lockers are what hurts them. If they could integrate a 4 low option and rear lockers, they would do everything a truck could do. If the could do that plus front lockers, Jeep becomes irrelevant lmfao!
