As a kiwi union die hard who barely watches league these days. That has got to be one of the greatest rugby (union, league, whatever) games that I have ever seen. What a fantastic display of skill and talent. The flow of the game was incredible. I can’t believe my eyes. I’ll be watching league more closely next season. Great stuff

Penrith couldn't have won this without their two kiwi middles. They are both absolutely incredible. One of the greatest prop pairings of all time.

Congratulations, Panthers! Four Grand Finals in a row, back-to-back minor premiers, and now three premierships in a row! They have won the greatest Grand Final since 2015, possibly ever! Simply a herculean effort and one of the great sporting achievements of this modern era, and they’ve done it largely off the back of their iron wall of defence. They lost many players since the 2020 GF and if they had backed off or become complacent at any point, they don’t win three in a row. Simply one of the most dominant teams of the entire NRL era. If they can keep their core guys like Cleary and Edwards, I can see them daring to dream of further glory. Nathan Cleary surely has cemented himself into claiming Grand Final and rugby league immortality. This club has done some amazing things, and it will probably be a long time before we see anything like it again. They will be remembered forever!

hundred percent but the twists and turns of 2015 for example the overtime try then the conversion hitting the posts then the dropped ball and drop goal make it probably the best

So sick of fans mentioning 2015. It was a boring GF brought to life late by some Morgan Magic then destroyed by a disservice to the game with Golden Point instead of extra-time. Only 1989, 1997, & 2023 GF's matter.

Reynolds not congratulating the panthers says a lot about his character imo. I know you just lost a GF but a bit of sportsmanship goes a long way. Penrith played absolutely phenomenal majority of the game and broncos was only good for 20minutes which isn’t enough

Broncos were good for 60 minutes actually all that defending and still only being down at 2 at halftime time and run through panthers the first 20 in the second half. They just ran out of petrol with all the defence they did.

The only complaint I have about the Refs was the clear Penalty that should have been awarded to Cobbo on his run down the sideline. I can’t remember who tackled him, but the fact that he CLEARLY tackled him without the ball (never mind that he wasn’t even looking at the ball, should have resulted in a Broncos penalty. That said, on the whole, I want that Ref to Referee ALL the major games from now on. He allowed the game to flow and we didn’t have the 6 agains every other play the ball that have become so common. Kudos to both teams, who played the best game of Rugby (of either code) that I have ever seen in my 66 years. People are all looking for blame on the Broncos side, but they are a young side, who played their guts out against the most experienced GF side over the past 4 years. They were debutantes and they gave the Panthers the most solid opposition I’ve seen for a while. It was not that they choked, or slackened off, so much as small mistakes that made the difference. That kind of talk also disrespects the AWESOME effort of Penrith, who have just made the most impressive comeback in a Grand Final that anyone can remember. They had the experience and they knew how to exploit any errors the Broncos came up with, which they did, but they were looking stunned for most of the 2nd half. It was Nathan’s coolness in the end that got them through. They deserve their 3rd GF and then some, for what they pulled off with that comeback. I don’t think any other team in the comp would have managed that. The Broncos deserve praise for their performance, because they had the Panthers looking rattled, which is a MAJOR achievement no matter what the final outcome was. Look at Nathan Cleary and the other Penrith players. They didn’t bag the Broncos, but praised them as REAL sportsmen do. This modern habit of trashing those who lose, is for kindergarten kids who don’t understand sportsmanship. To win or lose graciously is something that all the greats have bucket loads of. In all sports. The most disgusting thing is to see winners publicly give those they have defeated a public tongue lashing. People like that just show themselves to be LESS worthy of admiration than anyone else, including the oners they’re abusing. It’s like kicking a man when he’s down. A real dog act. Spoils what was a GREAT Game!
