2023 PCT Prelude

Unexpected troubles force a change of plans for me just a week before my departure. Pushing my worries aside, I finally get this adventure rolling and head out to cross the country through the seemingly endless snows!

This late winter weather is crazy.... don't freak out, but make sure you watch the forecasts before getting up the mountains.... I am sure all passes will be snow covered all the way through July.... also Mammoth Lakes 'Red's Meadow Resort' might not even be open as they was a plan to make road improvements. But all that might just push to next year given they will be skiing in August. Crazy winter this year.

I'll never do a greyhound ever again. I did 83 hours from Portland to NYC...I think I slept for 2 hours total.conversly, I took an amtrak from NYC to Sacramento, and that was amazing

I had a couple of good cries, felt hopeless at times but I just kept on keeping on and I got myself here and I'm so grateful that I did and for all of the angels for their help and words of encouragement. It was the rapid changes in pressure they were worried about. Pretty sure he made the right call after talking to him about the bus ride.
