I officiate my eldest son’s wedding the day before leaving for Ireland with my best friend and brother Sundance. Landing in Dublin early in the day gives us time to find some supplies for our hike and take in a taste of the town. Up early the next day, we head up to the Mourne Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and begin our hike along the Mourne Way.

Those ‘prickly pines’ are gorse- the flowers smell of vanilla when the sun shines. Enjoy your time over this side of the Atlantic

What a wonderful video. Thank you Huck for sharing. A beautiful time of year to visit with the flowers of Spring in the hedgerows and Ireland looking glorious and green, “the Emerald Isle”. It’s fascinating too to hear your thoughts and comments on things this side of the pond and pretty much the same, especially shopping, as I would say on visiting the US 🇺🇸 😊 Happy Trails, Huck and Sundance

Looks like a great time so far, Huck! Looking forward to the videos on this trip with you and Sundance! Pink tall flower was Foxglove and it looked like the little yellow ones next to it were buttercup (ranunculus)! :)

Them raised bogs can be tough going. Slopping is one thing, but sloping up hill is another all together. I cover the feet in Vaseline to stop the trenchfoot. The damp doesn't quit on this Island. Enjoy the Mournes , hopefully ye get the weather for it.

Really enjoyed this Huck!! Thank you for sharing your adventure. I am looking forward to doing the Mourne Way again. Did it about two years ago with my girlfriend in the Winter, and I was carrying too much weight in my pack, but am looking forward to doing it with a lightweight, and finding a different location to camp. Thanks again...hope you had a great time here 🙏
