Good luck I will be section hiking from Ashland to Mazlama Village up here in Oregon mid August. Sleep with those sawyers dont let them freeze.

Just a word of advice from a friend in his 60’s who is a triple crowner. He always forces himself to limit his daily milage to 10 miles for the first week. He adds 5 or so miles for the next week or two then he hits his stride. Plus, no need to get to the Sierra too soon🤪 Good luck!

We are staying safe. We decided to stay here in Lake Moreno to avoid cold wind and 2 inches of rain, so after only 1 and a half days of hiking, we're taking a zero in a primitive cabin!

I admire you. I don't know how old you are but taking on this kind of challenge is to be commended. Wish you the best of luck. Be glad you did not start out in snow. It's ahead of you and from the hikers up ahead, it's not fun. When you get to it. Force yourself to be on the trail before the sunrise when the snow is frozen to avoid as much post holing as possible.

There are permits for 50 people to start the PCT each day. So there are plenty of people.
