2023 plant wishlist review ✔️ + my 2024 wishlist!

Welcome to my last bonus upload for 2023 🥹 It's surreal to think this year is already coming to a close because it seems like I only JUST made last year's wishlist video?! The title of this video should be self explanatory but in this video I recap all of the plants I listed in last year's wishlist video (and whether I obtained them), and then I tell you my wishlist for 2024. I actually have a secondary secret wishlist of plants I REALLY have no chance of obtaining but maybe I'll leave that for another day 🤫

Can’t believe 2024 is almost here 😮 Time flies ❤ Thanks for the video Been really obsessed with caudex plants They are so funky and cute 🥰 One thing I have learnt is that they are thirstier than people give them credit for They seem to be tolerate frequent watering more than cactuses or succulents I find that You still need to give them water throughout the dormancy or the roots just shrivel up and die Especially if you have smaller younger ones They are definitely very drought tolerant but the dormancy tends to be shorter when you upkeep with the watering 👍 Caudex plants are surprisingly forgiving and quite easy You should give it a go Alice 👍

Are you blasting your burle marx flame with light? I got mine around the same size as yours is now, plasted it with a sh*t load of light and within 2 leaves she grew almost double sized leaves with a lot of fenestration. The BMF is an extremely light-hungry plant. P.S.: The "Stripey Mag" apparently comes from the late Tim Anderson (the same guy that "created" the red crystals). Apparently, Jeff Block's "Black Widow" is a Stripey Mag that he renamed. A clone of an OG Stripey Mag costs ~3k from what I know.

We have super similar wishlists anthurium-wise! Some I’m also on the look out for are the Hoffmanii Red Sinus and sp. Nova Panama. I also think variegated anthuriums are getting more popular now (also loving your hair in this video!)

I hope that you’re able to get most of your 2024 wishlist plants. But I don’t get the anthurium phase that’s spreading. Ti me they mostly look a lot alike. Just a difference in color of the veins and leaves. But they’re all too similar to me. So I’ll leave them all for me.

Idk how much this will mean to you (haha) but my guess for the parentage of ace of purple is a ace of spades green from, because of the veinatition, and maybe a pap or something else dark

Love this time of yr seeing wishlists and everyone's different preferences 💚 Stripeys are so dope tho the few clone cuttings I've seen offered are out of my spend cap at $2k+. I have seen a handful of black widow x michelles that look very very similar to Stripeys and I managed to pick up 2 cuttings so that could be a solid alternative. Side note, I just knew Circus Peanuts would be on your list but I was wrong 😅 I was able to get a 1 leaf clone cutting within my budget this yr and they really size up quickly. I've seen more cuttings offered the past few months below $1k , much lower than the last 2 yrs, so I think hopefully they'll keep dropping in price as more folks propagate (including my scissor happy self 😂)

Here in the states we can get Dressleri from Ecuagenera US for $350. They were on sale for $250 over Black Friday. The Eastern Panama clone is on my wishlist. It’s flipping expensive so it’ll be awhile before I can get it.

I 🙌 Can see po rices and attaining aroids and hybrids in the states will be cheaper and easily. Collectors veterans are in the states, lots of self-made hybridizer and old gardens are all in the states. I'm shock.

What do yall think of 60 eu for a small-medium Dark Phoenix seedling?

What I will say is not all dark phoenix are created equally. Harmony had them for around this price and they are alright but they are not of the quality of some suppliers such as Kartel daun. They can look really nice though! You are still looking around mid triples for a decent clone or 120/150 for a small self seedling for them. If you aren’t bothered about the genes and quality then absolutely snap them up at that price. You have nothing to lose for how cheap they have become.
