Your photography on this one is out of this world! People love sunny days but the mist and clouds just make the mountains even better.

i think so too, I love cloudy moody weather especially in the Rockies.

Fantastic video. Thanks as always for showcasing the beauty of Canada to the world 😁 I *really* love the view at 7:09 with the straight road and the mountains rising in the distance. Great stuff

There was a bit of a forest fire a few years ago in that section, which is why many of the trees are striped bare. On the bright side it does give a great view of the surrounding mountains.

I was really happy with the way this one turned out! The David Thompson highway surprised me; ashamed I took so long to finally record it! 😀

@@TransCanadaPhil Yeah, I'm glad you took the time to record it, and that was a great choice for music as well!

it was a much more tranquil drive than the #1 TCH or #16 Yellowhead into the Rockies, that's for sure!

Being from the UK, driving in the Canadians Rockies is one of my favourite things. Looking at the date you filmed, we were over at the same time, I noticed the flag at half mast for the Queen at the beginning... Always enjoy watching your trips.

thanks, yes that was last September. It was getting a wee bit cool for camping but still doable at that time of year.

Thanks for the kind words! When I'm making these videos I try really hard to give them a certain classy aesthetic. I'm largely trying to avoid that kind of Loud & Gaudy "KZbin-style" look and feel for a more 70's style indie film-maker/Vimeo style look if that makes any sense :-)

Drove there on our 2012 Canada trip, from Jasper to Red Deer, stayed there last night before returning to Norway.

Outstanding scenery. I am trying to plan a trip this summer - I want to hit Glacier National Park and go up into Golden and follow the TCH into Calgary. Hoping I can make it happen and see something like this myself. I've lived all of my life in the southern US and I can't get over the scenery, it almost seems like another planet. Thanks for the video, I really enjoyed it.

The confusing thing is there are two Glacier National Parks. We've got one too just to the west of Golden, BC. My next video will be of Alberta Highway #3 (Crowsnest Pass), it's the southernmost pass over the Rockies in Canada and it would be the one you'd probably see if coming up from Montana.
@MrSniperFromMars2 жыл бұрын
@@TransCanadaPhil I would probably come up BC-93 to Golden, then AB-2 south back into Montana from Calgary. Is there any routes in the area you think I should explore besides these?
@TransCanadaPhil2 жыл бұрын
@@MrSniperFromMars Just be aware the #1 TCH east of Golden is under heavy construction right now due to the final Kicking Horse pass construction project through there. It'll be amazing when it's done. Often traffic is diverted instead over #93 through Kootenay National Park. I do highly recommend the entire drive up the Icefields Parkway (#93) up to Jasper if you have the time too.
@MrSniperFromMars2 жыл бұрын
@@TransCanadaPhilI was aware of the Kicking Horse construction. Per their website it should be open during the day all summer long, so that shouldn’t be a problem. Unfortunately it looks like they won’t be done so I won’t see the final product, but from the plans it seems like one hell of a project.
