So much research in addition to the gorgeous views! Thanks Phil!

thanks! I'm headed out on the road tomorrow, but I hear that Jasper National Park is being evacuated because of the fires. I'm probably not going to go up that way, I'll stay along the south.

I know the Crowsnest Pass is Canada's southernmost mountain pass of the Continental Divide of the Americas on the road, but this is also a good sight for driving between Hope and Lethbridge along the Crowsnest Hwy.

ive never made the complete journey to the BC lower mainland using the Crowsnest highway. ive only done that using the TCH and Coquihalla.

I saw that you posted a new video and wasted no time in watching, Phil. I have a somewhat goofy takeaway... Has anyone ever tried excavating on or near that rockfall? I'd bet there must be a treasure-trove of old artifacts buried there. It'd be a daunting task, though.
@TransCanadaPhil9 ай бұрын
My understanding is they’ve left it largely intact. There is a whole museum and stuff located right there now dedicated to the disaster. Unfortunately I didn’t visit it. I should next time.

The slide is in a Restricted Development Area that was created by the Alberta Government. There are still human remains that have never been recovered from the slide area, so disturbing that for any reason would be highly insensitive. But, the CPR (now CPKC) line and Highway 3 have had some rock moved for small expansions over the years and the future twinning of Highway 3 calls for some rock to be moved.
