Loved seeing the TvT all in at the end and Pig just shrug it off and completely stall out and dismantle the attack. I’ve thrown so many armies away trying to break out that I’m considered a war criminal.

This series has been very helpful in improving my play. I placed somewhere in Bronze last season and recently made it to Gold 3. But the real satisfaction comes from successfully executing my macro cycle to the degree that it becomes automatic. I used to be very vulnerable to early-game harrassment, but now I just move (or a-move if needed) the SCVs, target down the intruders, and continue the build. I also tended to turtle a lot and lose to late game builds, but now I finish Stim and push around the 8-minute mark, do or die. Thanks PiG for such effective instruction!

1:19:00 this was something I learned a long time ago--if I'm getting into a situation where I'm having to break out of a contain, the answer is "don't get contained in the first place," and the answer to the follow up question is invariably to look at what happened 2/6/10 minutes before and don't repeat that mistake. Fixing the bad situation sounds good in the immediate aftermath of the loss when your recency bias is focused on it, but when you actually look at the game as a whole, you'll often discover you lost the game ages before you actually tapped out.

I finally got Diamond 2 with this build (slightly modified to have +1+1 and a small transition to 3rd base). Time to learn the reaper micro and the new plat build (and loose a ton of MMR :D )

I'm really liking the fact you are doing 1/1/1 in this, I think it scales really well to the advanced builds. I was doing your 2-1-1 against all matchups for years (up to gold1/plat3) and had real difficulty with trying to change to 1-1-1 even after a long break my muscle memory would just go *DERPADERP WE DO 2-1-1 NOW* I'm going to try adding it in vs zerg once I'm comfortable with the game again but enjoying learning a super basic 1-1-1

I have been playing SC2 since it first came out. I remember buying the special edition that came with cool skins and SC1 on a USB dog tag looking thing. When I first started I was able to make it up to platinum and for the first time since then I am now playing at a platinum level. Thanks a lot for making the game fun for me again.

Been binge watching these B2GM and it got me back into sc2 ! Have played to diamond back in WoL and just getting back into the basic fundamentals is so hard not to get distracted .. 😅 I've been ranking up really fast though trying terran from maining zerg for so long

Can you please explain what the correct response was for the first game where opponent opens mass mutas? That player could have killed off the base or done big damage with better control of them. You were about to explain the correct response and then started explaining something else. Do you mind explaining what the correct response was for the first game if they kept all those mutas and kept harassing your base with them?

That is the first episode, when I am just 100% giving up on that swapping hardore. I tried to do this against the bot on the slowest speed and for a gold 1 player this is just insanely difficult. I trained lots of times and this just out of my league😢Thanks anyway ❤

Whenever learning a new strategy or a new mechanic it takes a while to get it down. I don't expect anyone to get the hang of this straight away. Just be patient and keep practicing and being good at swapping addons will help you for the rest of your Terran career

that should only happen if you forget to stim (they don't have anything to heal) or if they're out of energy (can't heal or attack so they just move to the point on the ground you've commanded them to A move to)

Your factory and starport build a single unit each then idle for a while, so you might as well use those addons and use them to build new addons in the interim. This means your barracks get to immediately be on addons and start producing and your factory and starport are still free and ready to go back to building units for the time they need to

I see in this 2 base build sometimes you have small windows where you have extra 400minerals, but you queue 4 marines for example and 4 SCV, is not a mistake if we queue 2 marines 2 scv for example and build a CC just for orbital?, not for extra SCV. Pig, why do we choose to build the reactors for the rax first as opposed to tech labs? Wouldn’t we be able to get upgrades sooner if we put the tech labs down using the factory and star port?

Just APM and attention being a resource, trying to make the build a bit simpler this early on. As you get higher you can swap addons a lot more to level up your builds

because tanks can shoot further than they can see if you get the vision advantage with vikings it really helps you slowly push into your opponent or easily defend positions.

PiG what do I do if it turns into a lategame and and my enemy is producing massive carriers? what do i produce?

In a true endgame scenario I'm assuming you've got at least 6 bases, probably more since main and natural are probably mined out. Technically mass 3-3 battlecruisers is the ultimate army in TvP, and they counter carriers super hard. If the game's got to that point though, you've probably already massively screwed up. If you want to play lategame macro and quite defensive styles you'll probably need to play quite a different style to what I'm showing here

Add-ons are important. But the multi-tasking part is relatively not ideal. In Silver Part.2 and Gold Part.1 PiG won all of the 10 games. I think this is... to be honest, hard to control or somehow? Sometimes he made a lot of mistakes (like insisting doing a full macro cycle and didn't look at the front) but still win, because his macro is way better than his opponent and his army is way bigger. I don't think that's very pratical. It's sad.
