I bought a 2024 Toyota Camry LE with the convenience package and blind spot monitoring package. We are a family of 3 and the Camry feels so spacious plus we got an amazing deal compared to the RAV4. I was extremely surprised how quiet it is and how comfortable it is.
@breaker1685 Жыл бұрын
I own a 2022 Camry and have test driven RAV4's several times - I can tell you without any doubt that the Camry has a more sophisticated comfortable better handling drive with slightly less road noise. The main thing I give to the RAV4 is that it sits higher and has much better ground clearance for those awkward driveways. Also the Camry has longer more comfortable seats (i.e., more bottom and thigh support). But the smoothness of the Camry on the road is what sold me over the RAV4. The RAV4 has a bit of a "PRADO feel", that is, it sways you from side to side more with road undulations and with a more stiff feel. I personally feel the RAV4 for its high price is over-rated! And the Camry with its lower price is under-rated. The only mistake Toyota made with the Camry was to lower it too low over the previous model Camry's, it needs to be about another 1.5" higher with the ground clearance. Or, shock, horror, bring out a Camry Cross-Over (SUV) version like the Corolla Cross

I purchased a 2023 Camry SE and and I am thrilled with it. I am 69 years old and my previous ride was a 2011 FJ Cruiser which I had great service from, but I was looking for something with better fuel mileage and a little more comfort. I am getting 32 mpg combined and the motor is not even broken in yet.

Very informative video…we are driving a 12 year old Camry & will likely stick with it instead of a Rav4 when purchasing a new one. Our Camrys in the past lasted 13 and 14 years so we hope the new models have the same longevity.

12:25 "[...] protruding plastics, my knees rest more on those [in RAV4]" - This is my pet peeve of the design of modern vehicles, the pointlessly wide center consoles, robbing taller drivers of the necessary knee room. I used to drive compact cars decades ago, now I have less knee room in mid-sized cars because of this dumb design. It's style over substance. I wish car manufactures would hire adults again to do interior design and ergonomics. Prioritize function over form, NOT the other way around. Thank you for mentioning it.

In 2019 I cross shopped a top end rav4 limited fully loaded vs a fully loaded Camry XSE v6 both for 40K. The Camry is a no brianer. It’s more refined much more luxurious and much faster. And it sounds way better whereas the rav4 even at that price still gets a noisy 4 cylinder

Love this! I wanted the Rav 4 but it was too expensive $70 a month more than the Camry ... so got a basic Camry LE. Thank you for pointing out the hybrid's extra costs no one talks about that.

Your theory about why the hybrids have more oomf at the starting line isn't far off. Electric motors achieve 100% of the power output for a given input of electricity, immediately. Whereas gas motors, for a given gas input, don't reach their peak power output for a couple extra seconds.
@superbird242 жыл бұрын
Thank you for comparing the Camry sedan and the Rav4 SUV. The Camry’s standard 17” wheels make for better ride comfort compared to the 18” and 19” options. I also like how you noted hybrid battery replacement for long term ownership. It’s something that reviewers almost always omit.

Choosing between a Rav4 and Camry depends on your lifestyle. Rav4's are multi-purpose vehicles. Camry's are more about performance, comfort, and efficiency. I chose the Camry for it's style, quality of the ride, and fuel efficiency.

Much as I like Toyota, their seemingly unaddressed problems with hybrid cable junction corrosion on hybrid vehicles would prevent me from purchasing one. Love that they still make a V-6 Camry. We looked at the Venza, Rav and the Outback before replacing our 18 year old Camry. As far as insurance goes, the Venza was $1K more, the Rav was $700 more, the Outback was $300 more per year. We liked the Venza a lot but in both the Venza and Rav the rear view is horrible. At the end of the day, we chose the Outback. My Rav 4WD Limited is great during our 5-6 feet of snow every winter but our Outback is far superior.
