Honda/Acura always had problems with garbage brakes. I know because I owned them. Infotainment center is still way outdated. Was looking into these but I’ll pass on all vehicles for now. Toyota had an opportunity to blow this away but decided to lower quality even below American made products. All are way overpriced. Fuel mileage is poor for that configuration also. Too bad the car market is where it is. It is going to take a couple years for the carmakers to wake up to what people want. I feel the government has played a big part in ruining the car market. Good, honest review! Thanks!

The longevity of the 1.5L in the Honda is questionable. Looks are subjective, but the Subaru is hideous inside and out. Toyota interiors don’t hold up. The Mazda gives the most bang for the buck. The 2025 CX-5 Turbo Premium was my recent purchase.

Recently bought a 2024 Outback Premium. My spouse and I have had 8 Subarus over a 42-year period, and I purchased 3 more for the office at my old job. The new one is not flashy, but rides well and I know it will be good in the snow. The touchscreen is mildly annoying due to its lag time and there's not a ton of room up front, but overall we are both quite pleased. Have a big road trip coming up in March 2025 (800+ miles) so we'll see how it does.

$7K difference? In Canada a slightly used GR86 is around $30K, a GR Corolla is like $55K!! It's literally almost double as much! I don't get it.

Just bought a 22 mazda3 hatchback. Was very concerned about visibility. Coming from a 2010 mustang, ha! The Mazda visibility is wayyyy better. So all you have to do is drive a car with like no windows for 15 years and you can drive anything

The 2.7 has graphite block like semi's have. And other advantages like direct port injection. No sludge build up and a few others. I love my 2024. Sometimes I just stare at it for hours😂😂😂😂😂

Does the base non-hybrid model have the engine running all the time, or does it have an automatic stop/start feature where it shuts off the engine at stop lights? I find that feature pretty jarring and annoying in vehicles that have it, and it's annoying you can never turn it off permanently.

I own a 2019 UX250H The car is a blast. I have added numerous gadgets interior and exterior snd the car receives a lot of compliments. Receiving 42mog all round you cant beat it. Parking in tiny spaces is a sinch. Turning cycle is brilliant. Just turned 60yrs old and this car is unprecedented

I bought a new Subaru for way less than a Toyota. In the real world I got my Subaru for thousands less than a Toyota. Plus my Subaru AWD is worlds better than the Toyota AWD.

Subaru and Mazda are in a class above for AWD in snow and ice. We have a 2019 CX5 and it has had zero problems at 40k miles. Prior that we had a Forrester from the 0s and it blew a head gasket at 70k. After that had an Accord that had a bad CVT trans at 60k. Before these cars we ran ours forever. I just don’t trust any of them over 60k. Well that doesn’t count Toyota and my 2015 Tacoma that will probably last past 200k.

I prefer the Outback over the new Forester. The Outback is more comfortable, and rides better, than the Forester. As you implied, the Forester looks to be an offspring of the Ford Explorer.

Number 1: Outback is the closest thing to a (reasonably priced) "station wagon." My prediction: people are going to get sick of the same old tired SUV look and return to wagons. The Outback is imperfect but it has a somewhat lower center of gravity and is a tad sleeker than the ugly SUV boxes.

Great, detailed review. It’s a nice truck, I like the burnt orange but I’m still not tempted to replace my FJ, lol. I believe the C Channel frame was Toyota’s fix to the rust issues of old. Nice to see the return to the stronger box frame, hopefully they’re better treated against corrosion now.

Switched all my cars to Toyota after driving Subarus for years. I keep cars for long time and did not want to deal with Subaru's oil consumption, carbon build up from direct injection, lack of physical buttons and chain driven cvt, but Rav4"s and new prius"s ergonomics and visibility are ages behind Subarus :( Bought Toyotas without test diving them and was socked how much they lack in visibility/ergonomics and comfort department.
@RealistickКүн бұрын
If you're debating trying another Subaru, oil consumption has been (essentially) eliminated. Carbon build up also isn't a big problem, especially if you work in a fuel induction service into your maintenance (not just a gas tank additive). The CVTs have also been improved too. I'd still trust the new RAV4 more and the infotainment on the Subies is a little frustrating but worth a test drive! The new Outback might add back in more physical controls too.

I'm the other way, instead of buying the 2024 Rav4 limited AWD, I ended up get the 2024 Outback touring. I did research a lot before buying it because I never own a Subaru before in my life. I see Subaru had problem with oil and cvt in the past but its reliability starts to improve and go North in the recent years. Beside, it must be personal but I do like the interior look better than the Rav4's, something like the brown NAPA leather, the safety EyeSights system, the Driver Monitoring, the Power folding side mirrors, etc... The only things I will miss on the Rav4 is the 8spd trany and the 360 degrees camera view (the new 2025 Forester will have it, but the Outback only has 180 degrees front view camera) and the Rav4's MPG is a bit better than the Outback even though they have the same 2.5L V4 engine (sorry, I don't like hybrid and turbo). Another thing I found out is the Outback cabin is more quiet than the Rav4 during test drive, may be the Outback has better insulation I guess.

We cross shopped the RAV4 against the Outback. The RAV4 just felt tinnier and tinier (and wasn't any less expensive). And the Adventure model (the one with the 3500# tow rating at the time) was much less powerful than our Onyx XT without really being any cheaper.

Ive enjoyed seeing reviews from "both" of you guys, that said,.... Even though it is smoother shifting, has more HP, and looks better, i would still rather keep my old girl an 2021 Subaru Impreza hatchback sport 5 speed manual. The visibility is superior. Cargo space "with rear seats down" is 56 cubic feet. Its very easy to work on and I picked up my year old (used) Subie for $23,000 USD. 😃👍

Most buyers are fine with (and actually prefer) front wheel drive to all wheel drive. Lower initial cost and lower operating and maintenance costs attend to the FWD variants as well. Sorry Subaru. Also gears, so... Mazda.

I bought a 2022 hatchback last week. I had been concerned about visibility. Well, it’s twice as good as my mustang convertible that I am coming from (when the roof is closed obviously) so for me, I now have better visibility!

When I fill up my 2025 Camry LE, it says I have about 470 miles range. If the gas tank is 13 gallons, shouldn't it say at least 650 miles (13*50)
