@@ultragoldcoin8780 I honestly didn’t want the premium package but it came with it. My Toyota dealer had only 5 available that day and someone already put a deposit on 2 of them. So I didn’t have a choice but to get it since it was a high demand especially in California with gas prices being so expensive

A regular, non-CVT transmission. That’s what else you could ask for. It won’t drive as nicely compared to a transmission with actually gears.

The other important thing about a physical first gear with a CVT is that it reduces strain on the CVT significantly, increasing lifespan of the CVT.

Don't they just use the launch gear CVT setup in regular gas vehicles? I think the hybrids using the planetary gear system don't have a launch gear.

Just placed a deposit on LE AWD hybrid. The specs seem to vary, somethings are different on the Toyota spec sheets in the dealership vs the web site. Also, the MPG figures for the hybrid are conservative, many owners report getting better fuel economy than published, (depends on your driving habits and such).

Quite honestly, I prefer this over digital gauges. I strongly prefer analogue gauges myself, and they did a good job with them. Just what you need, and nothing more.

My 22 is beautiful and all digital, the new one is a cheep POS. You have to get the XLE I USA to get the digital now. I don't want the 23 I ordered because of this.

@Jesse Wooster I think this is part of how they were able to drop the price. Configurable digital Screens are a hell of a lot more expensive than a small screen and gauges with a few stepper motors.

@@mattkroening7964 Yes I agree! I just wish I had known this. I ordered the 23 SE and now not sure if I want it due to this dash lol. I have a 22 LE and just wanted a brand new one with less miles because I paid over MSRP on my 22 and can get the 23 at MSRP. Also not sure about the 5 MPG less with the new upgrades and 18 inch wheels. I use mine for UBER/ Lyft.

Interesting perspective. I was originally going to get the top trim level awd Corolla hybrid and then I saw the 2024 Prius. Redesign body and drivetrain that outperforms with better combined mpg, it feels like a no brainer. Why are you considering the Corolla over the Prius?

Just received my 2023 Corolla hybrid SE AWD in Canada and I noticed that the speedometer is totally different looking. Mine is all digital with no analogs. Canada gets a different version I guess.

@@SERgikZP I placed order 6 months ago for the 2022 model but got a call back after 2 months. My dealership told me that 2022 is being discontinued and 2023 orders can be placed but they did not know the prices. I looked at the features and placed order for SE AWD and the price turned out to be great. The car is amazing and the tech is top notch, only let down is that awd system takes away the spare tire. I drive in the snow and the awd system works like no other car. Great handling and pickup but top end power isn't great. Safety sense 3.0 is really advanced and a huge upgrade from the last version and better than all the competition.

My only gripe with the Corolla Hybrid: sluggish acceleration. That's why Toyota totally redesigned the hybrid system on the 2023 Prius so acceleration is much less of an issue.

It's not sluggish when a car need one second longer at 0-60 than a lot of other cars. It's great on a daily basis, I recommend you to drive some good old underpowered cars, to appreciate the acceleration of the Corolla, it's really not that bad.

The standard gauge cluster is such a downgrade from pre-refresh models.... the new startup chime for hybrids was desperately needed though (across the entire Toyota / Lexus lineup)

Couldnt agree more with you guys. The absolute worse car I ever had was the 2010 Corolla LE with 1.8L. Great gas mileage but horrible 0-60 torque for merging/highway. As someone who lives in the northwest winters, the Corolla was horrible for heat and I'll never get another Toyota. Its something most youtubers dont ever care about, but its very important if you drive two hours to work everyday.

One thing to point out as incorrect info - none of the corolla SEDAN trims have dual climate. That is reserved for the cross and hatch.

People in winter weather climates have had it drilled into their heads that they NEED AWD to survive the winter. That's just bs marketing. Unless you're driving up mountains in over a foot of unplowed snow, studless snow tires are more than enough with FWD or RWD

I owned a 2022 Toyota Corolla, the ride quality was awful especially since here in RI we have awful roads. You felt every bump, pothole 😂 It was an okay car, 7/10

I wondered myself on this one with the 18" rims with a 40 series tire as to how rough of a ride it would be.....It should of had at least a 55 series tire on that rim for a smoother ride and more ground clearance for the AWD.

Yes you can, I sometimes drove mine from Portland oregon, to San Francisco Cali, 9 and a half hour drive, the car is pretty efficient

Probably turns off to maintain fuel efficiency. My rav4 turns off awd after like 25mph depending on how much you step on it

It turns on when you hit the gas all the way at any speed. Works every time from start position to about 25mph. I have 2023 SE AWD.

@@hardeepbrar8374 The fuel tank is very small. 2022 corolla had 45l but this one has 40l. It gives me a range of 600km per tank but that does not include the reserve range after 0. Apparently Toyotas keep aside a big portion for reserve which should give you another 100km but the screen will show you 0. I know this as I once filled up gas from 0 and my full tank from that point only filled up 32 litres while the actual capacity is 40l. I wouldn't risk it though as you cant tell how much is left after 0.

Your title, affordable Prius, is an oxymoron. base Prius price with freight is 29k, Fuel savings on the Prius monroney sticker is $750 MORE savings than Corolla: OVER FIVE YEARS! But IF you can get a Prius at MSRP you still have to amortize that $4k more you paid for the Prius than the Corolla hybrid by only the $150/year savings from the Corolla fuel efficiency. That works out to 26+ YEARS to break even by buying the Prius vice the Corolla HB, ha ha. BTW was in the dealers today getting my Tundra (free) serviced, they had a new Prius...$39k, NOT 29K, and the dealer had added an additional dealer markup sticker Nitrogen filled tires $299, LIFETIME security etching $499. And that pregnant-roller-skate-with-NO-trunk Prius had a SOLD tag in the window! Pretty darned expensive payment to get economy.

I can't believe the put that cheep ass dash in. My 22 LE is beautiful and all digital. You have to get the XLE to have it. And now the LE comes with hubcaps lol. My 22 LE has Prius wheels and digital dash. It's beautiful and now the SE is a downgrade. 5 MPG worse than the 22 and cheep ass dash. Wth Toyota!
