Was wondering if you noticed any jerkiness hesitation shuddering in the drive train when stopping and starting. Some reviews are saying it's not as smooth as other Toyota hybrids. The rear cargo/seat packaging is disappointing. The tumbling second row makes it very easy to access the third row, but the third row itself doesn't seem worth accessing LOL. They couldn't put the battery under the second seat like the Tundra because then you wouldn't be able to access the third row. But perhaps if they had designed both the Sequoia and Tundra with the battery under the front seats, like in the Sienna, then that could have opened up possibilities for better packaging.

I did not notice anything abnormal when stopping and starting. Felt pretty smooth. Biggest dissapointment is the roomines on such a huge vehicle. Hopefully Toyota will be able to somehow redesign its battery placement and make it better. Other than that i think they did an awesome job with design and powertrain.

I just bought the Platinum. I hated the 4 ply tires. They did not do good in the rain. So I put some 10 ply AT. Even went with 285/60/20. It’s looks really good. Now if they would just come out with the lift. I love it. Very big. Very fast. I didn’t feel much shuddering in mine.

Any rubbing with 285s? Did you do anything else? Offset rims? Spacers? Etc.? Thanks.

@@JustaDad_2356 no rubbing, no spacers, and no offsets. i know it looks very good. Plus i prolly could've went with a 295. Im ready to put a lift on it. But they haven't made them yet.

With the 3rd row down is the cargo bigger than your pilot?

Not by much. 4 cubic ft or so and definitely much harder to load.

i had the old seqouia which i loved .sadly ilost it thru an accident so i waited one and a half ear to get this beauty the minute i sat in the frint seat i told the delae keep it they have ruine the seqouia that i wanted no space in the trunk,the frint seat not comfortable at all the front aperture window sheld narrow limits my vision the last row very uncompfortal so what did i decice i cheked the rxpedition notgood finallyi rdered the yukon denali it is the best ever i am so disappointed after waiting one and a half year tosay mr dealer refund me the deposit and yo vcan keep it and i am talking about the capstone so sa so sad

Honestly if it wasnt for the roominess i think it would be a winner. The lack of room in the back hurts a lot.

It is an air defuser. For MPG. The Tundra has it. But it's powered. 😂 c'mon man

Thanks for that info. But are you refering to that awkward trim piece underneath that looks like snow plow? And its suppose to help with MPG? Im not an engineer but from the looks it seems like it would create more drag and reduce mpgs. Ahh physics was never my strong suit.

@@MattTheCarguy there is one on the Tundra. It actives at highway speeds I believe. So it is for MPG savings. Push wind away from the tires which will create drag which is bad for MPG. It stays tucked in most of the time. Has to be put in service mode to change the oil on the Tundras. TRD Pro's Tundra and Sequoia don't have them due to off-roading. One of the channels who had the chief engineer of the Tundra/Sequoia explains it all

I am sure that there is functionality to it but also disaster waiting to happen lol. Getting stuck, freezing, etc. The one that I have filmed must have been in service mode as it wasn't even supposed to be deployed if I understand correctly.

I wasn't crazy about the Sequoia but will take it over Armada any day. And its not that much more. Newer technology, better engineering and nicer looking truck.

@@MattTheCarguy taken from truecar today: Armada average lease price 656/month, Sequoia 859/month. I wouldn’t say that the difference is insignificant. Furthermore, the tech in the Armada is solid and reliable, let’s see how the Sequoia holds up. A huge SUB with useless cargo space. Go to a dealer and they’d want to sell you an SR5 for 80k. I’m not sure what new tech you’re referring to that the armada doesn’t have. If you mean the hybrid, it’s still thirsty and barely gets you an extra 4-5 mpg

@@Eliehbk the reason leases are so much higher is because dealers are price gauging and charging over sticker. It is also brand new model so there is no special money factor available. Once that is over leases on Toyota should be much lower. I would anticipate that it has much higher residual value vs Armada. Toyota resale value ismuch better than Nissan. When comparing to Armada you should not call the Sequoia thirsty as the 5.6L V8 on the Armada barely gets 15mpg in real life. It is large but quite frankly not much bigger with Nissan having advantage mostly in headroom. The tech in Nissan while they dressed it up in new package is antiquated vs sequoia's brand new 14 inch screen and 12.3 inch instrument cluster. Camera quality is also better than Armada's. Even Cargo to third row is 22.3 on sequoia vs 16.5 on the Armada. So yes, I would take Sequoia over Armada any day. That does not mean that I would like to see an improvement especially in cargo room and 3rd row seat. My favorite trim is the TRD Pro and that has MSRP of 76K so it is about 6K more than Armada Platinum. The new Grand Highlander may be a solution to my problems lol.

@@MattTheCarguy how about comparing the TRD pro to the Expedition Timberline? It seems that Ford and the rest of the auto industry is heading into hardship. I expected prices to fall and some cars to be sold at a loss. The used market is already drastically changing.

I was hoping for a lot more room on the interior. For the large size SUV Toyota is priced in the same range as Ford Expedition , Chevrolet Tahoe or Nissan Armada.

@@MattTheCarguy yep… and you can get the others easier and cheaper. Tahoe pretty sure with kids you can go three car seats across. I’m not seeing the anchor points in the middle seat of this. With kids now that’s how I think 😂
