As a former Street Triple R owner (2014 model) I could only smile with pleasure at your review. Fantastic engine in a brilliant chasis, and pound for pound one of the best motorcycles ever made (in my simple opinion!). I found it a physically small motorcycle, but surprisingly practical, and during the time I owned it went on tours, track days, and pleasurable daily rides. If someone has never ridden it, then get down to your local Triumph dealer and test it!.

Brilliant vidéo. 👍 I own a 2015 Full Black Street Triple, my 2nd Street Triple i ve bought just because its the BEST bike ive owned. LIGHT, and powerful enough, and comfortable, and very good looking and finish. Very POLYVALENT and not too expensive. Now, i need to replace it cause its near 8 years old. I tested 3 times the new Hornet 750, and was impressed with the motor, enough fun and power for my needs, good brakes, excellent tft screen, surprisingly comfortable / but suspensions are realy too soft too , its LIGHT as the Triumph and price is cheaper. BUT the Hornet is realy cheap looking, and finish is far away from the Street Triple. Lot of UGLY RAW black plastic, UGLY welds on the very basic looking steel frame, poor looking 160 rear tire... But i could manage with all these drawbacks, as price is realy tempting, if colors didnt make it still more UGLY and cheap ( sad / boring grey, or too flashy mat yellow, other colors / white or black are ok but with UGLY red frame and fork, i am not a teenager.. , and i hate mat paint because its very fragile, and it makes the bike look even more cheap and plastic. Hornet would look MUCH BETTER IN ONLY GLOSSY SAME COLORS with BLACK FRAME and SILVER OR GOLD FORK ( like on the cb500 / 650R) On the other hand, im only considering a Street triple R, cheaper than the RS, and more suited for road use / no track use. BUT , i will wait for the next millésime, cause i dont like the Trident screen ( neither the hard to read RS display), and for a MUCH BETTER LOOKING COLOR, like full glossy black, a color they should ALWAYS offer. And hear me Triumph, you wont catch me with your strategy to make me buy the more expensive bike. I dont need the RS, and more than 13.000€ ( ready to ride) becomes huge amount of money for a mid size roadster, even if its very good. As well as i dont like that you have to pay 200€ extra for every colors but boring grey. Grey might be ok on a boring Honda scooter, but not on such a nice and sporty bike like the Street triple, or you HAVE NO TASTE. Another thing Triumph... no room to store a small U or disc lock under seat ?... on a bike that is one of the most stolen nowadays ? STUPID. Are your living on planet earth ? So, sory Triumph, your Street Triple is excellent, but i think you wont get my money this year. Even more, for road use, we dont really need increase in power / 120 or 130 hp. im afraid it becomes less reliable, and for sure MORE FUEL CONSUMPTION. ( i already often get nearly 8l/100 on my 675 in town and hard riding) What I would buy immediatly is an all new Street Triple S like the one i own, with 95/110 hp, a classic lcd/analogic display like on previous R model, and a cheaper price. And i dont want your cheap Trident 660, as it is a massive downgrade on every point from a Street Triple, for just a little lower price than the previous standard Street Triple. PS: im from France, i own as well a 2017 CB500X , and just like you, i enjoy this bike a lot, despite its low power. Its so good and economical, that i think ill never get rid of it. And always keep it as a second bike. And i also love small scooters just like you, i had 2 pcx 125, as 2nd vehicule, and i agree its the ABSOLUTE WEAPON FOR CITY. so pleasant fun and economical and SECURE compared to big heavy dangerous expensive bikes they try to sell us. ;)

Hi, I’m a mid 50’s chap & I went for the R in Crystal White, collected 2 weeks ago so early days but loving it when weather permits in the uk. This is my first bike in quite a few years so the R was more than enough for me & my budget. This is my first Triumph after my early teens & early twenties riding (Yamaha, Honda & Suzuki)

Picked up yellow RS 3 weeks ago. Had a 2018 R previously and a Tiger GT Pro in between. A great step up over my old R. Brakes are amazing with a bit more feel than the old Brembos. Suspension firm but also plush doesn’t get out of shape like my old R sometimes. It tips it even easier than the old bike with the new geometry. More torque in the mid range. Plus the styling is improved and the yellow and red are both stunning. All just my opinion. But very happy as a 53 year old to break my body for a few more years 😂

@@The_Bo that would be new to me. The 2020 R has the DRL, so I don't think that's a difference. A lot of people don't like the asymmetric regular light, or that only on high beam both main LEDs run, normal beam it's just one side. Unchanged since the 2017 version at least.

@@karsteng1809 Yeah pretty sure about that, i firstly noticed when looking ad the dozen of hours of reviews. If you see the RS running they are just all the DRL eyebrows, while the R has not the same logic...I'm trying to pinpoint precisely the video that stated it clearly but since it's months of watching is not easy...lol.. I have always enjoyed your videos since you started and after overhauling my life during Covid and now living in rural Wales (where it always rains) and no longer commuting, I found myself needing (perhaps wanting would be fairer) to swap out my Ninja 1000SX (the best alround bike ever). I looked and tested almost every suitable bike and despite some excellent contenders, opted for my second Street 765RS in Red. You're right about just about everything except it being a track focussed bike. Yes it can certainly handle a track, and it's way better than I can ever get out of it on any road, but for the sheer joy of riding, the pleasure of looking back at it as I park up somewhere or simply having it as a wallpaper (grow up I hear you say), there is no better bike (no not even a Ducati). This is probably my last bike of it's kind before I retire to a Z650RS or similar in 5 years or so, but till then.... no regrets.

Mr. Rocketman, I always enjoy your review(s) so thank you for your outstanding insight. I'm going to brag a little about the bikes I currently have. Two years ago I got the Daytona Moto2 Edition. Mainly to have as a collectors bike that sat in my living room for over a year. The seating position is rather racey. Of course it is. It's a race bike, and I adore it. Last year, I picked up two new bikes. The Speed Triple 1200RR and the Thruxton RS Ton Up. So far, all three bikes have clip-ons. This year I put a deposit on the Street Triple RS Moto2 Edition and absolutely can't wait. Like the Thruxton the clip-ons are above the top yoke. I'm taking the 10mm spacer off to lower seat height from 839 to 829mm. I'm not a young man 😂 will be 65 in April 2023. Talk about back issues, I have some 😅 3 years ago I swore I'd never ride with clip-ons. Then Triumph had these beautiful bikes I simply had to own. The Moto2 Edition in Racing Yellow to.me is stunning. I don't how "too uncomfortable" they are because I do have a 2012 Tiger Explorer waiting with all its comfort. I just picked up a Trident for my "son" and it's a great as you well know. Going out on short blasts on the clip-on boys is quite acceptable. They're too good not to own. As an added plus, I'm not married. Happy life, no wife😂😂. I can't wait for the Street Moto2! Miles Perkins told me "It's coming soon" I'm in Tucson Arizona. You want the RS, get the damn thing😅. Kenn

But, at 63 the riding position is a little too extreme for me and I'm not doing track days anymore. Plus, I am really enjoying that grunty big twin motor on my Speed Twin. The Street Triple has been tugging at my heart again also. I had an 09 Triple and I traded it in because I wasn't riding it very much anymore. It was just a little too much for me because I couldn't control my right hand. It was going to get me into a lot of trouble so I named it Trouble Maker. I enjoy riding leisurely on my country roads but I also like to have a spirited go also. I have a 2021 MT07 now which is kind of perfect for the way I want to ride my favorite country roads. I have to always remind myself that I'm not a motorbike racer. I did love the handling of the Street Triple, even back then. I can't imagine how they have improved. I'm sure the handling would be like night and day between my MT07 and a Street Triple R.

Traded my 2017 Thruxton R for a 2024 Street Triple RS in Cosmic Yellow. I truly enjoyed that Thruxton. Here in the states, almost no one knows what they are and they mistake it for a cruiser, until it dusts them in the twisties. But the Street Triple RS.. Goodness, the handling alone is next level. And that’s before you crack the throttle open. Plus, Ive always been partial to a good looking shade of yellow. So, Im happy.

I have a 2022 Street Triple R, coming off a KTM Duke 390 the first thing I noticed was the amazing cornering ability, effortless and very confidence inspiring, many people say this is not a good beginner bike but the rock solid predictability of the chassis has me disagreeing with that opinion. Speed Twin 1200 prefers to putt around. Picking up the ZX4RR today, can't wait to ecu flash it to 16500 limiter and remove the lame 56HP ride-by-wire throttle cap that USA got (omgwtfbbq). I've just traded in my 2020 Street Triple R for the new RS in cosmic yellow, it may sound a bit trivial but what swung it for me was the choice of colour, don't get me wrong the Ohlins rear shock feels more refined especially on rougher roads and I prefer the RSs TFT but it really boiled down to the RS looking so much more handsome IMO. also I know this applies to both the R and RS but the new gearing makes the bike feel so much more peppy and the integrated braking makes you feel even more in control.

The N124 is nice, but a bit out of your way. Try the N2. From Ameixial south to Sao Bras is pretty, then you could head west to Portimao. If you want to compete with the SP I would look at RS version. The SP has a bit more mid range torque (it’s a bigger engine) but less top end HP than the RS. The new gearing helps the Triumph though and it’s all you’d ever need on the road. But where the Triumph wins easily is the suspension, steering, stability in the turn and it also looks a bit more premium. Styling is subjective. Triumph is an all round better bike. There’s an argument to say Yamaha has the better engine but the Triumph engine is still great (just it’s 765 so there’s a limit to what you can achieve with it) But I would pick the RS all day. Which is why I bought the RS after test riding it v SP v KTM890 😂

Question is not if you need a RS for only open road use, if you can afford for it ... but in reality, R is better for road use : position is less on the hands, seat is slightly lower = more comfortable in the city, tires are better on wet roads, regular mirrors are much more efficient in the traffic, screen is more effective as well etc.. but most people think RS is better because its more expensive... as often... 🦆🦆🦆and Triumph try to catch you with nicer colors... 2300€ more mainly for color is just stupid in my mind...
