I've had Grip Puppies on my last 6 bikes, so good, I love them! I currently have a Honda Hornet 750, like it a lot but keen to ride a street triple r to see the differences. Thank you guys for the review! 👍

My buddy and I bought our 24 Triples the same week unbeknownst to one another, nearly a year ago. I go the RS, he got the R. Same colors as you two. We haven't swapped bikes yet, but I imagine I'd feel the same way you do. The main reason I went for the RS was the color. I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it.
@Yo-Ken9 ай бұрын
Ha... that's awesome. The color is what got me also.

I knew that scenery looked familiar. It's the Boat Ramp area near Pittsboro/Raleigh Triangle. New Hill Holleman Road area! I've been riding that area for years. lol

Both bikes are more capable than I am as a rider. Minor electronic deficiencies in my R (turn signal swap, cruise control, dash, etc) aren’t really a deal killer, for me anyway. 😅 I love, love, love the power and handling of this bike, the all day comfort, the freakin’ way above par brakes, and of course the sweet triple power plant. It’s just the perfect all around road machine, for me anyway. Great ride today Ken-those roads were awesome!!

Good times bud.
@sambagogo7779 ай бұрын
The only real downside of the R is that it doesn't have cruise control available as an option. As a road bike it's arguably superior due to the more compliant rear suspension and road tyres relative to the Öhlins and more track-oriented tyres of the RS. The small amount of extra power of the RS is all at the top end which isn't something most road users will be exploiting. Still, the RS has some extra bling and the more varied color options relative to the blandness of metallic gray or white for the R.

@@Yo-Ken Given all I've said I'd still go for the RS in Cosmic Yellow just as your did, haha! If Triumph update the dashboard display for the presumed 2025 model then I may well do so. It'll be a coin toss between that and the latest Yamaha MT-09 SP.
@anthonycook80909 ай бұрын
I bought a white one (because I liked the colour). I did buy the bellypan and bar end mirrors, heated grips etc but I've often wondered if I should've bought the yellow one and got the posh dashboard and cruise control. My bike's pretty ace tho.. so there's that :)
@sambagogo7779 ай бұрын
@@anthonycook8090 Nice. As somebody fairly remarked the Crystal White option looks really good in bright sunlight. Yeah, the painted belly pan option is pretty much a must-have for those who care about the looks. Plus with the R you get a dashboard display that can actually be read!

I have had lots of street triples. The difference between the 675r and the 675 standard was immense. No trainer r defo. The original 765rs over the basic 765 same the difference was immense. I own the 2023 765rs now but can't comment on the standard 2023 r.? Great vid.
@wernerxldata3 ай бұрын
The power difference is only a virtual throttle table in the ecu, just like the rain mode has less power than sport for example. Works the same way. It maps your throttle position to how much the valve in the throttle bodies is opened, ride by wire stuff. Spend a few dollars on an ecu flash, after that the r will have more power than a stock rs 🎉 especially the range from 3k to 6k improves a lot.

How do the brakes feel on the r when compared to the rs?. I know the rs got better hardware but how much different do they feel in the real world?

Real world, they feel about the same. Track maybe different, but to me there are very close.

You think your dealer is bad, come to Akron/Cleveland area and go to Triumph dealers here, they won't even let you ride the bikes to see if you like it or not. Hopefully they go out of business someday (same owners for both places).

It's amazing they stay in business. Next purchase online or I go back to my dealer in NJ. Bought 3 bikes from them and was treated well. Good deals along with testing any bike I wish.

I got the fly screen with the tinted top section fitted from the off on my cosmic yellow rs. They definitely make a difference. I had one on my 2014 675r and 955i speed triple before, so I knew it would be worth getting. They are a bit pricey though, £99 in the uk for the tinted top section is crazy expensive. 😊
@Yo-Ken9 ай бұрын
I just put the fly screen on with the visor. A little over $300... it is pricey, but it made a difference to my surprise... so for me it was money well spent. I talk about it in my next video.

Does anyone use the built-in gopro bt software for the Triumph? It shows up in my '22 ST 1200 RR Bluetooth section on the TFT? I've always purchased knock-off gopros, so I don't have to worry so much about the cameras. The question I have is, is a gopro worth it, just for the convenience of using the switchgear controls?

I never used it. To many issues with Gopro, quality of the video is very good, but reliability is not. I use DJI Action 3.

What bag do you have on the tail?
@SmittyAZ9 ай бұрын
Looks like the Nelson-Rigg Commuter CL-1060. Or maybe a smaller NR? Note: I have tail bags for each bike I own that does not have saddlebags / top cases / sissy bar. (I know, I realize that I don't need 12 bikes.) I did switch the NR for a Rhinowalk on the busas and ZX-14. It's larger with outside pockets. I take it you're looking for a bag for small seats?

I have the commuter lite, the other bike has the sport lite. The tail bags are very well made and worth the price.

I like your videos, Ken, but you harp on the tach display too much. There is a digital tach. Use it. Moreover, you can hear the engine as it approaches redline. Furthermore there is a rev limiter. Personally, I would love more display options as well, but the bike is so great that this is a very minor issue. You make it more of an issue than it really is IMHO, especially since there’s a digital tach. Relax. 🤣🤣🤣
@Yo-Ken9 ай бұрын
Yeah that is true, but I'm a drag racer. Having a readable tach is important to me. The digital tach is useless... maybe you can read it when you are at full throttle and nearing the redline, but I can't. The gearing is spaced tight on the Triple. I have hit the rev limiter more times than I like. You are a better rider than me if all you need to do is listen to the engine and peak power and shift. I have said over and over. It's not a deal breaker, its great bike, but the tach sucks.
@MotoEnLoCo9 ай бұрын
I agree with the tach issues he mentioned though. It's the only con I have against it. I've had my STR:RS for nearly a year now and the tach is pointless unless you switch it to numbers instead. I guess at this point, it doesn't even matter anymore because like most riders, I ride based on feel now and don't rely on the tach for shifting.
@ZabDevin9 ай бұрын
@@Yo-KenUnderstandable for drag racing, or track for sure. I’m not a drag racer. I ride 99% on the street. Personally I don’t worry about the tach unless I’m street racing. That’s said, I agree that the display could be better. … I was just talking to my Triumph dealer about this.

@@MotoEnLoCoRight. That’s basically what I was trying to say. I’m not aware of a lot of experienced riders who focus on the tach for everyday riding.
