2023 Vans Verse Snowboard Boot Review

My review and looking over features of 2023 Vans Verse Snowboard Boots. I compare them to some other boots.

Thanks! I love the detailled review. Personally, I am at my third pair of Ride Tridents. I mainly use them for splitboarding and freeriding. To me, it's the perfect boot: With 3 boas, it's easy to keep the foot in place and I never suffer from heel-lift. When touring uphill, I just leave the top boa open. Also, it's very fast on and off. I have always found that the more advanced snowboard boots are complicated to get on and off. Sometimes, when arriving on top of a peak, there's a lot of wind and it's cold. So you want to be able to get riding as quickly as possible. With the Tridents, I am much faster to get prepared than my friends with "proper" splitboarding boots. Anyway, just another idea for a boot to look at. What I wish the Trident had, is the snow guard of the Vans Verse.

Thanks man!! Glad you enjoyed. I was so close to getting Tridents last season. Salomon Malamutes. K2 Waives. Both for touring. Tridents definitely on the short list. I heat molded the ThirtyTwo Jones MTB’s that show up in video. Toe box still too tight. Gonna go to a shop this week and get them redone. REI didn’t have a toe cap or any way to punch out the toe box. Liners on the 32 Jones are surrounded by a harder foam, so that’s gotta stretch in order for inner foam to stretch. Once I get some trips on them, I’ll do a review.

@@LagmasterBGood luck! Sore toes while touring…that‘s the worst. I wish that the indutry would cater more to splitboarding boots but it remains such a niche. And all feet are different. One boot in three widths like they do for hockey skates, that would be awesome!

That an old school foursquare mid layer? I have the same boots. Been figuring them out, apparently i needed a thinner sock to help with my terrible circulation. Been great so far. Also rocking a 8.5. they always can packout but never the other way

It is OG mid layer. Good eye. Mid 2000’s. Mine are still a touch tight but getting better. 32 Jones MTB that I flash in there, are up for sale while they’re unused. Harder insoles never gonna pack out in those.

I’m a size 9.5 in regular vans shoes what size should I go with these?

Use this to get length (don’t worry about width). Heel against a wall. Paper butted up against same wall. Do this on hard floor (eg. tile, concrete, wood floor). Rest normal weight on foot. Make line at end of big toe. Do each foot. Come back here with measurement and I’ll look it up for you…or google a Mondopoint or centimeter shoe size conversion chart.

@@pabloautran1437 thanks man! I love these boots. I got a second pair lol. So you’re 7.5 and 7.75. Going with longer foot, I’d say an 8. That will allow for a good range of thin to thick socks. Get them molded at REI or a local shop. I’m 26cm and I got size 8 and heat molded them and they’re pretty snug. If I went 8.5, heel would still be good and I’d have a little more toe box room. This goes for Vans. Can’t speak to other boots. But most are probably pretty close when you heat mold. You might be able to get away with a 7.5, but I think 8’s would be perfect.

Hey! I was looking for some information about the Vand Verse Range ed and I found your video! On the minute 9,26 you mention (and I can see) that your boots are peeling exactly in the same spots as mine. I bought my Blake Paul 2024, 10 days ago. I used them for the first time yesterday, literally 3 hours until I realized the boots were peeling. Did you find out why happened? Maybe because of the bindings?

Congrats on new boots. I think it’s just the thin outer material of snow sleeve getting rubbed by bindings. It’s a two layer sleeve, the inner probably more durable. We will see how bad it gets. Keep me posted.

Did you get boot liners heat molded?

Focusing on that area (lower boa) In my opinion, the fabric has to much tension, what is more, the edges of the ankle strap are rubbing on the high points of the boot under the gaiter. If you check those points where it rubs, it is exactly where the BOA cables go... So I think this is a bad design. I love the boot, and it fit me incredibly, but it makes me sick to think that I have paid 600$ for these and I have had issues since day 1. I will keep you informed. @@LagmasterB

@@MochilerosRastreros I see where you’re talking about. My saving grace is that the snow flap is a luxury piece and not crucial to the function of the boot.
