Great review style. Right to it. No BS. Specs, check. Play review covered everything. This is a blueprint for others' reviews that are often full of extra non-essential stuff and poorly described, cliche descriptions of the racquet's play and feel. Very well done. Thank you.

This is the best frame I’ve ever played. They’ve updated the flaws that the last frame had. All the power and spin you need for players who take a full cut at the ball plus it comes off the strings like butter. It’s like a prestige for dummies 😅

Would be awesome with a comparison between the Vcore 98 and 95. Are you planning to add weight? If so it would be awesome if you could talk about the result. If possible a comparison between the costumized 98 and 95.

I'm current using Vcore 98 (2021). I like the power it gives, stability is ok, but I feel disconnected cause is too muted. And, it cause same wrist pain, thats bodering me. So, I'm considering test the Extreme Tour 2022 or the new Vcore 98. Do you think I should test Extreme because is more soft? And about power and stability wich one you like most?
@simmstennis
@simmstennis Жыл бұрын
I like both of those rackets a lot! Power and stability goes to the Vcore. Feel and connection to the ball goes to the Extreme.

did you find that 95 and 98 were equal in terms of control/power ? Had issues with the 98, couldnt control but it might have been the strings it was a demo - I opted for the 95, great racket but you need to have a solid swing if you want to hit winners. (PS: on your forehand your racket ends up below shoulder level kind of sideways, if you look your opponent is finishing high over the shoulder, you should try that too ). cheers !

Yeah, the 95 is definitely more controlled

Thanks for the vid Mate! I had a similar path. I used the Vcore 95 2021 until now, but I wanted a racquet with more pop and forgiveness. I am quite happy with the Vcore 98 2023, even though Mark despise this racquet. 🙂

@@simmstennis taking a close look at the pictures it looks that Tommy Paul is using the same mold. I am not sure if Yonex is making a special layup for him. Also I do not see any added lead tapes unless they are under the bumper guard or under the grip.

Strings have such different weights. That is why listing strung specs are silly. As an example switching from Lynx to Lynx Tour upped my SW by 3 pts with nothing else being changed
@chuckfriebe843
@chuckfriebe843 Жыл бұрын
How is it any different listing strung and unstrung specs? On average, strings will add about 30 SW points as an estimate. String weight DOES NOT vary wildly with different strings, unless you are going from a 1.20 gauge to a 1.30. It may be a difference of 1 SW point + or -.
@bounce_hit3534
@bounce_hit3534 Жыл бұрын
@@chuckfriebe843 That is factually incorrect. Gut hybrids and full poly (same gauge) vary in multiple grams. I have measured them on a SW machine back to back with matched rackets. EVEN considering what you were saying... who is to know what gauge or type of string they use to list those strung specs? The ONLY objective measurement is unstrung spec and that is what should be listed. If they choose to also add strung spec then that is cool too, I guess.

You gave a pretty glowing review on the Ezone Tour 2022. Any reason why not go with that instead of this? (just wanted to hear your comparison)
@simmstennis
@simmstennis Жыл бұрын
Yes, that was a great racket that surprised me because I didn’t love the standard EZONE 98. I really liked the tour version and was thinking about playing with it but in competitive play there was a bit too much power for me on the mid court ball that needs to be taken as an approach. I couldn’t quite confidently step up and be aggressive with that ball which is something I want from a racket. The VCORE has less mass based power so I feel I have more margin on that ball and I can also cover the ball more because it’s a little quicker through the air.
