2023 VW Golf GTI 40th Anniversary Edition! I went to Wolfsburg DE to say it’s coming to the USA ;-)

What are your thoughts on the all new Volkswagen Golf GTI 40th Anniversary that will be coming to the states early next year? Tons of really new cool features coming and of course Tornado Red and Urano Gray!

boy o boy....would I love to have my 83 rabbit gti, black with red cloth interior, 1.8l, 5speed golf ball shifter knob, hand crank sunroof and windows back in my garage. I remember it being super peppy. So much fun to drive! those where the good 'ol' days:)

Pretty cool we already have the 40th anniversary over here in Europe as the Clubsport 40 MK7 so we got the Culsport and some Anniversary goodies on top over here.And we also have a Anniversary MK8 as the Clubsport 45

May I ask how were you able to put your name on the list for one of these? I contacted 3 VW dealerships in my state and they all told me the same thing, that even though they don’t have specific info from VW yet, they’re almost certain ordering will not be an option due to limited production of this car. They did say though that once they receive info from VW on allocation the will contact me to give me the specifications of the cars they’ll receive and an ETA.

1st car I bought in the USA back in 2003 was a BMP 20th Anniversary #3303. Had that car for 10yrs and did a ton of work to it. 335WHP APR Stage 3+, Peloquin LSD, Raxles Driveshafts, Stoptech ST40 brakes up front, custom short shifter, Autotech Clubsport cup kit and tons of hard driving and track days. Let it go in a divorce as the only thing left was to turn it into a full time track car. Oh well I have a B8.5 S4 to play with now and 2x MK6 GLIs for daily beatings. But I can say that I really really miss my 20th 🤗😇🥳

can't really say the colors are exclusive when they aren't...example urano grey was on the rabbit and the yellow was on the 2022 autobahn...exclusive should be just that...exclusive to that model period...urano grey and cornflower blue being exclusive to the rabbit made those 2 color models great to have...but now the taos and a few others come in cornflower blue...

2023 40th exclusive. Its the way VWOA uses the term to say that you can only get it with the special editions. So wording is correct within the context.

My grandfather was a vw designer at the new Stanton plant in Westmoreland county PA owns 3 GTI out of the the first batch of Gti's made he passed and my dad has them put away but will not touch them or sell them or anything they have less then 5,000 on two of them the one never seen it run they been covered with junk my whole life 😂😂

I'm not 100% sure.. but most of Europe would order them, UK and South Africa got them. USA, Canada definitely did not, I don't think Australia got them. Japan seemed to get the Clubsport, but maybe not the S ?
