2023 Yamaha MT-10 Comfort seat!

Ride review and long term comfort will come tomorrow, after a 350+ mile trip to the Dragon with my hetero-life-mate, Cameron...
But so far it looks and feels great, and hopefully will be the final piece in the muzzle of making my new MT-10 into the ultimate hyper-tourer...

Welcome to the fam! It's an amazing bike, even if it is a little funky looking. Do yourself a favor and get the ECU flashed... Are you allowed to do the exhaust in the UK? Or would removing the CAT get you in trouble? The best bang for the buck is to leave the headers and muffler stock, and just do the CAT delete...

@@SquireSCA With motorbikes it's not a big issue in the UK, a lot of guys delete cats over here. I've bought a titanium racefit system which replaces everything to the headers. I'm only 5 mins down the road from those guys so made sense. Once i've broke her in i'll be getting the exhaust on, servo delete and straight in for a remap at a place that does a lot of MT10's. Really enjoying learning more about the bike via your content !

I’ve got the gen 2 seat. Same shape, different materials and sewing patterns. It totally changes the ride and saves a sore ass syndrome. lol

The only thing I've done to my MT was changing the back tire at 2500 miles. I got a T32 Bridgestone back there and I'll put one on the front soon. How do you like the Pilot 6?

My back tire was roasted at like 1700 miles. I had T32's on my Tracer 9GT and I hated them. Put 300 miles on them and then threw them in the trash... No confidence in the grip and had the back end keep stepping out on me. Went to Road 5s at the time and no more problems. The Road 6 is even better.

Been waiting for forever for a Gen 2 seat to hit inventory but like you said, no luck. Contemplated going with an aftermarket company instead. The stock seat is rough on long rides, especially two up.

Comfort seat is probably like 20% more comfortable than the original seat IMO. After few hours of riding my butt was sore.

I've got a gen 2 seat, got it the same day I bought the bike, but it's still in the box as I didn't like the extra height

My dealer couldn't get one in any reasonable amount of time, so I went online and found a gen 1

2:32 that's how. I waited for 5 months and then cancelled my order for the comfort seat. I've got a 2023 and I've just been riding with the ass buster seat this whole time. Lol I was told that the old comfort seat couldn't fit the 2022-2023 MT10 because of the IMU electronics that are there on the newer bikes. Did you have any fitment problems?

I had zero issues, it just popped right in. The 2023 comfort seats fit on the older bikes so I figured the new bikes could take the older comfort seat...

Quite possibly. haha. The easiest thing to do, from what I have heard, is to wear mountainbiking shorts under your pants...

I will be honest, I never really liked Corbins... They are pricey AF, and they look like 1970s cruiser seats... Tried a couple over the years but they never really improved the ride... I once had a Saddlemen gel seat that was nice...

Absolutely, but only you can decide that for sure. I feel like its comfortable, and I would think you would too... But ultimately its down to the rider, their size, what kind of shape you are in, how you ride, etc...
