The modes don't change power output. All they change is how the electronic throttle responds in relation to the actual throttle input. Also that LeoVince link pipe doesn't have a cat in it, it's just a resonator. It's the only pipe for the MT-10 that has one. The Graves EVR keeps the exhaust valve for similar effect. You should also disable the PAIR valve to get rid of the popping under 4k on decel
@twowheelpilot3 жыл бұрын
Looks like more power to me. Dyno chart clearly shows that.
@willl843 жыл бұрын
@@twowheelpilot that's because the modes limit throttle opening. If you do a run at 1/2 throttle instead of full (on a standard cable throttle bike) it'll show less power because you're not letting as much air in so you can't make full power

It is nice to see improvements in the midrange where I ride most of the time. A sales person at my local dealership told me not to bother with a tune if I didn’t ring my bike out. On public roads, high rpm is only really accessible in the lower gears and an abrupt throttle takes the fun out of that. I am more interested in improvements in midrange power, fuel/air ratios and throttle smoothness.
@1sinister80 Жыл бұрын

I have a 2017. It is my understanding these are not "power" modes but adjust throttle sensitivity (which explains the dyno numbers and the confusion with the name). Standard mode can still be a bit twitchy but not difficult to manage after you get some "butt in seat" time. I'd be interested in the average MPG change as it is pretty horrible from the factory. Hey Chris, hello again from Wales. I have a bike that's been dynoed and PC3'd with an air filter etc., but it's interesting that this Yam lost power before a fuelling increase. I found exactly the same thing happened with my turbo diesel car, an old style indirect injection Peugeot. After fitting an air filter and straight through exhaust it lost power, wouldn't top 98mph, even downhill but after turning up the fuel at the injection pump, it hit 123mph easily. I also found that at anything less than flat out, the mpg went up from 47 to a regular 53mpg in normal usage. I expect the owners of bikes you work on will find much the same result. Incidentally, my bike's consumption improved by about 6mpg as well, so, you're actually an eco warrior, albeit unintentionally ! Medal of Honor to follow from uncle Joe forthwith.

Man… This video is gold. I never expected that Moore Mafia would do a video on the MT 10. Quick question: I’m going to be purchasing a 2020 or a 2021 MT 10. When I do, I will probably be going with the Austin Racine belly exit exhaust, otherwise known as their GP3 Belly Exit De-Cat system. I will also be adding a Sprint air filter. If I perform those two modifications, will your tune work for me just as well? My huge concern is always AF ratio first, and achieving 100% throttle opening in every gear second. Do you think I will be OK with the tune you developed using a different exhaust set up? Thank you so much and thank you so much for doing something with the MT 10!!! GOLD......

When I first got my MT10, I assumed (wrongly) the position 1 would be the softest and then work it up to position 3. Wrong! In the UK, position 3 is largely suggested for rain or some other 'shitty' road conditions and 1 is the most aggressive throttle effect. Most of the time, I just leave it in 2 for the throttle and traction control. Seems ok to me. I always used to think my Blackbirds were wonderful(and they were) and took me all over Europe, but the MT10 is just amazing. The sound sold it to me, before I even bought one.

Great movie, agree that the ECU flash makes a different bike. Biggest difference is however the smoothness in the sportier power mode (B for Beast on my 2016).. actually makes it drivable not trying to throw you of on throttle on/off... But, no surprise you didn’t see power difference between the 3 modes, they are at full throttle the same only the steepness of curve is different not the end point..

Please pardon me if I'm wrong, but isn't this engine in it's stock form designed for the RN32 Yamaha R1 which has titanium valves and rods and this RN45 version engine steel ones? Isn't it important not to give it 100% juice in order not to lose long-term reliability? I mean I would like it if my MT-10 would have like 20 more HP but not at the cost of its reliablity or dropping its 40k km valve clearance service interval to half. Best regards from Germany.

Those Sprint filters are amazing for maximizing airflow and power gains but they are God awful at actually filtering. My brother in law and I bought MT10s together and I've kept mine completely stock except for a slip on exhaust because the bike has more power than I could ever want as it is. But I was doing maintenance on our bikes and his air box is full of sand and grit and mine was perfectly clean and he and we always ride together basically 90% of the time. So you definitely get airflow increases but them Sprint air filters are about as effective as a screen door when it comes to actually filtering the air. It will basically stop a bug from going into your engine but sand and grit and everything else goes right through it. But it is a race filter it does exactly what a race filter should do. Just don't think most consumers understand the difference and what makes it a race filter and the filtration they give up for that increased air flow.

@@TeamMooreMafia So you guys have the 1 day turn around mail in tune ready for the MT10? I was going to send it to 2WDW but I'm in Florida and they're in Washington State so I don't want to be without my bike for over a week lol Also I assume we should expect less power as a mail in tune isn't as accurate?
