Old platform or not these things are just phenominal sleds in almost any trim. Personally I'd rather spring for the little bit more money and grab the GT pkg but for many this is the perfect way to end up in a Winder. The Stryke ski was a game changer for these beauties. I for one hope they extend the agreement with cat for many more years and keep pumping these out almost unchanged till the market dries up or the change the bulkhead enough in a catalyst to be able to ram a 4 stroker with a turbo into one.

Agree about the Strike ski. Totally changed the handling and made the front end feel lighter.

What will happend with Yamaha next year? Will they continue using this one decade old sled, shut down the sled division or go over to the new Arctic-Cat Catalyst platform? Will a 4-stroke really fit in a Catalyst?

It's just a trim package like, blizzard, X-RS, VR1, XCR, etc. Yamaha's just don't seem to be quite as clear as the other OE's

My issue is you can get into a turbo renegade 900r for 17000 and these sidewinders are 24000 cad. And the renegade is the latest tech

Yup, the price comparison is way out of whack. Yamaha badly needs to take a closer look at this. In the US this SE is right around the same price as a Renegade XRS Turbo R. In Canada the price difference is almost 3 grand...

I feel like this video was just a whole lot of nothing. Talking about trim level and how inflation has increased the price for 75% of the video does no good if specicfics aren't used. Either give us the exact price, amount increase to the LE (is it worth it?) and what that dollar amount can get you in other brands. Or just review the sled in a vacuum without mention of the price

Lol! This is nothing new guys. All the snowmobile manufacturers have different levels of sleds. With basic and premium shock packages. (SE and LE) just like Polaris with “sp and xc” don’t make it sounds weird and exile yamaha from the bunch. It’s not confusing at all. They all do it.

Great job as usual Mark. Look forward to the eye candy ‘23 SRX test. ‘23 Sidewinders are a rare sight up on the Canadian Prairies. Some filtering in in 2 weeks. Some of us on the ‘Waiting List’ (in on release date but not in early enough that day) just received the call we can have a SRX in early Feb but not with some of the Spring Surge incentives such as low interest financing. Bogus In my opinion Yamaha. Dealer agrees. Price not adjusted for 1/2 season gone either. That I do understand. They will sell all of them. Will wait a few weeks & get in early on a ‘24. Really early. Of course, it could be late delivary too. Lol
