After posting this video last night, I have had multiple calls from others telling me how many deer they have found and where. Today I talked with some old retired Division of Wildlife people form the 80's and 90's (good friends of mine). They are telling me the Division of Wildlife started down this path when it became unionized. They told me that the Division of Wildlife is controlled by the DNR and that their public relations people suck big time. One ex Division of Wildlife officer in particular told me that when he tried to talk to Columbus DNR about a law enforcement question recently, they interrogated him, wanting to know why he needed to know. If they treat an ex-game warder like that, then it is no wonder they are treating the caring public like this. Make the calls to the newspapers and television, post on here the number of dead deer you find and what county they are in. Post on our Facebook page as well. People are paying attention and the Division of Wildlife is watching.

I have found four on my uncles 37 acres here in SW Michigan. There are nearby areas that have total devastation here too. Its to the point where some of my coworkers haven't seen a deer on cam in weeks in places that they were getting dozens a day. You are correct that the DNR doesn't care but its our job as conservationists to not shoot any doe in those areas.

I'm in rural Ohio East of Akron (near Berlin Lake) and haven't seen any signs of this here, but we have seen a decline in population in general. Not sure if it's an overharvest issue, but our herds are shrinking slowly over time. I don't hunt my property although I do feed here, my cameras don't get as many pictures these days........

We found 5 yesterday morning alone in paulding county. I haven’t had a deer picture in 3 weeks. The DNR told me to keep hunting it’ll bounce back in a year. In the flat rock creek area we have lost everything. Our heard won’t bounce back for years. The department of wildlife needs to wake up. Or our kids won’t have deer to hunt. I can remember when you were lucky to see a deer let alone a buck. I’m disgusted by the way that the DNR and Department of wildlife don’t care. Hunters need to come together and sit out

I found 12 on my 260 acre farm in defiance. I’m on the north side of the river across from General Motors. 5 big mature bucks. Including a 160” non typ that’s 3yrs old. We’ve had several non typ and big typical. Several does and fawns including 2 does out of my pond. I haven’t seen a buck in 3 weeks and saw the first die with a fawn last night in weeks.i reported this starting in late August. Game warden refused to test them or come out and inspect them. Just left a receipt in my mail box.

Having the same problem here in northern indiana for the second year in a row with EHD and DNR .dead deer all around me no interest from the DNR. It will run its course is what I got last year from them. Found 82 around my house and we'll on my way th that again this year.

Just curious can ehd be spread from saliva from one deer to the next when you have a large herd on your farm and your using feeders.

That's a shame that the deer are dieing off like that horrible. Up here in Minnesota we had a horrible winter in 1997 122 inches of snow in the spring huge flooding when the water went down there were dead deer all over it took years for the deer population to come back

Great video, thanks for the information. I hunt delaware co in ohio. Not sure, why gov officials aren't correlating the amount of pesticides on corn/bean farms. These deer consume alot of these crops. Thanks for your voice, let's do our part

Sounds like Wisconsin Michigan and Minnesota with the unmanaged wolf population. Some liberal judge in comiefornia has them on the ESL. Which is stupid because they are not in the least bit endangered.

It's bad here In wva too. It sucks seeing the fact back when my dad was young if Yu seen a deer track it was known all over cause at that time there was hardly any deer . And to see the population drop time and time again it's sad. Back in the 90s was my first time hearing of deer dying all over like this. Sorry I think they could come up with something to help😊

Hey I live in highland county been deer turkey hunting 35 yrs I've been telling odnr for at least 7 yrs to back off turkey and deer bag limit turkey are in real trouble and the deer we have are only making it to about 3 yrs old they just blow me off ur right about everything they finally went down to one bird but won't get rid of fall season who wants to shoot a hen who wants to shoot a 2 yrs old buck out of state hunters come in and lease up all the private ground or hunt all the public ground it's sad Ohio hunting is done everyone shooting dinks to post on social media I told my daughter yrs ago when the outdoor channel came on that it would be the end of hunting Willie davis

I don't think you're seeing too much in williams county. We arent seeing any dead. Sounds more in defiance county. Just myself and a friend hunt hundreds of acres, neither has seen one dead. I saw 14 just a couple nights ago. Another friend hunts multiple properties, so hundreds more acres, none dead.

Seeing over 670 in defiance county officially and that's way under reported. Coworker found ehd dead deer and called dnr 6 times in 2 days with no response so it's obvious dnr is too busy or doesn't care to make all the dead deer calls. Defiance county sheriff issued a coworker a reclaim tag for the bucks he found. I'm in williams and the watering holes I've surveyed I have yet to find dead deer and fortunately the cold weather this week should knock the midges out. I wouldn't even plan on hunting if I lived in Defiance county this year and Paulding county along the river is just as bad.

Are you guys ever think that they genetically modified these soy beans and corn plants to if the deer eat them when they're still green that it causes severe cancer hemorrhaging and all that other s*** to get them to quit eating the crops the course they would keep something like that on the wraps does it cost them money because it's too many too soon and then they die from the stuff way too fast and one of their main diets is the actual corn and soybeans and weed that they grow and and really you know fertilized the s*** out of the plants i remember walking into a bean field this year soybean field and smelling nothing but chemicals months after being sprayed

You can opt to not hunt, pretty simple. EHD can be very isolated, it happens every year.

Historically EHD is very localized. This unfortunately is not localized. When you have mass die offs that are effecting herds to the tune of thousands of deer lost total, encompassing several counties, you are looking at an epidemic that will cripple the deer population for many many years to come. Our counties are only 10% forested, leading to our deer herds being concentrated. The DNR is charged with the protection and management of the State of Ohio's deer. Deer hunting in this part of Ohio is still relatively new and if they do not step up and manage, they are failing the State of Ohio and all future hunters. The hall mark of a professional is to manage the unexpected, the hall mark of an amateur is to let the unexpected cripple them.
