2024 Acura ZDX review // Very well done but the price! Acura's first EV.

This is a Motormouth couple car review of the all-new 2024 Acura ZDX full-electric luxury SUV. The 2024 Acura ZDX has a 102 kWh battery with 489 km/304 miles of range, 490 horsepower and 437 lb-ft of torque. In Canada standard AWD. In the US there is a RWD option with 358 horsepower and 324 lb-ft of torque, it has 313 miles of range.
In both Canada and the US, the more powerful 2024 Acura ZDX Type S is available with 500 horsepower and 544 lb-ft of torque. It has 447 km/278 miles of range.
The 2024 Acura ZDX has a bold and athletic stance with a pentagon grille and standard Jewel Eye LED headlamps, LED taillamps, 20” black wheels and a tire repair kit. The Type S model has 22” wheels and a black roof.
The interior of the 2024 Acura ZDX is driver focused and feels more upscale, it comes with some great standard features like an 11.3” touchscreen with Google built-in, wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto, an 11” digital driver display, a wireless charger, an 18-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system, leather upholstery, driver seat memory, heated and ventilated power front seats, a heated steering wheel panoramic sunroof and a hands-free power tailgate.
While the standard features are great, this electric vehicle is very expensive and doesn’t qualify for the Federal EV rebate of $5,000 CAD. In Canada, the A-Spec starts at $84,990 CAD and the Type S $91,490 CAD.
In the US, 2024 Acura ZDX A-Spec RWD $64,500 USD, A-Spec AWD $68,500 USD, Type S $73,500 USD and Type S Performance wheels & tires $74,500 USD. The $7500 tax credit may apply.
With a Level 2 charger it will take around 11 hours to charge your ZDX. With a DC Fast Charger with speeds up to 190 kW, the ZDX will go from 20%-80% in 42 minutes.

Cadillac Lyriq sold 9154 units in 2023, January -March 2024 has sold 5800 units. So Cadillac with the same platform will if projections hold will sell 23000 units plus. It will probably be less of a flop than the CyberRustBucket.

The price ($91,000 CAD) is absolutely ludicrous! The only Acura that is worth that kinda money, has the letters … NSX on the rear bumper (there are currently three available in Canada for that kind of money). Yes, it’d be used. Yes, it’d have some mileage. Yes, it’s not an EV. But … you’d be the coolest person you know, it would demonstrate to people that you are truly passionate about cars… and perhaps most importantly… you wouldn’t LOSE half your investment in UNDER a Year! Yes… possibly 50%!! Smart money, and for those with passion… it is a no-brainer. Thanks for the video.

Hahah this is cheap compared to the audi evs. The q4 etron which is their cheapest ev is 106k while the q8 etron is 160. Q6 etron going to be 150k. Acura don’t even compare with luxury cars, stay in ur brokie affordable lane. (I drive a 2024 cayenne s hybrid pebble grey and a 2022 m5 comp matte black profile picture)

My sister who is living in Thailand, just sent me a picture of her going for a ride in a fully electric regular 4 door car. Good enough range to spend the entire day working as a taxi. Selling price about $15,000 CAD / $11,0000 USD. It’s only a matter of time until those vehicles come to North America America. Even with a 100% tariff, which would be illegal under WTO rules, current sellers have no chance of competing.

Expensive wagon hearse. Should have folded seats down and checked if casket would fit. It’s a one and done as you said, but seems to just meet regulations for Acura to have an EV. Not serious into EV until their later models. There are way too many other options for that price for a car that will already be discontinued. I’m not an Acura basher as I own an Acura rsx type S that has been an absolute workhorse and super reliable. I was hoping they’d bring out a hybrid and stay with the brand but doesn’t look like that will happen

​​@@Slickpete83The model 3 base rwd starts at 53k before tax and rebate. The long range AWD is 63k before tax and rebate. The rebate is applied after tax, so you'll have to calculate that based on your location. Also you don't need AWD in Canada. A good set of snow tires is what matters the most.

Nice positive review of what I consider a very attractive product. Let's hope the GM bones don't undermine Acura's customers confidence in the brand going forward. WTF, $91k+ taxes CAD for a rebadged Chevy EV! Clearly its for compliance, maybe a 2 or 3 MY vehicle at best. If you're really in love with it, lease and make damn sure you get a 0% and high residual because it won't be worth much after its axed!

It’s nice enough for what it is but ridiculously overpriced. I suspect Acura isn’t interested in selling many of these as it is a compliance car. Two other criticisms: since they will only sell a handful of these I don’t understand why Canada gets stuck with just a black interior when the USA gets better choices. Also, the design of the interior and dash doesn’t look as special as a $100K car should. It looks very conventional and a lot like every other Honda product. Disappointing.

Guys, I guess you are being forced to review these EVs ! What is wrong with Acura??? They had an excellent product from 2018 -2020 (3 years) in a MDX Sport Hybrid!! They should have revived that technology , with new enhancements, in the new MDX Redesign. I own a 22 MDX Advance, which is a terrific Vehicle. Yes, a bit pricey, but compared to the other Luxury Brands for what you get in the fully loaded models, it is actually a Bargain. For about $2K more, Acura could have produced a new Sport Hybrid version which would have been a Complete No-Brainer. Using the same Type S engine , 3.0L enhanced with small electric motors, which provide more HP & Torque than the non Type S (like mine) , 20% better MPGs !, and would have been the same Redesigned MDX not requiring any changes. This MDZ EV will be a Enormous Flop, IMHO.

I would give 7 on 10. 5 000$ too much expensive to each trim. Doesn't have a good charging curve. The Silverado is better for charging with 320kw. The Prologue is 5000$ too expensive to.
